Day Trip to Cinque Terres

Cinque Terre With Walkabout

signed the disclaimer and 就是我死不关他们的事了.... hahaha... wonder if the hike was gonna be so life threatening.... jittery....

after a 2.5 hours bus ride, we finally reach our starting point for the hike...in one straight row.... with Mr Ang in front of me... we set off on the first part of the hike.... photos are in sequence of what i saw along the trip ....all taken with jittery hands.... i realised that i can be afraid of height at times too.... hahahaha..... i can't walk and enjoy the scenary at the same time.... i was very focused on the path when i walked and only looked around when i decided to stop to take a look.... hahahaha...

we are so near (10 steps to the left and we can literally be dropped in) yet so far (we are at least a few hundred metre above sea level) from the Mediteranance sea.... beautiful scenary through out the day..... My happiest day in Europe thus far... =)

dun look very realiable to me... =P

Corniglia is the town below, our destination for lunch.... the hike was about 1.5 hour.... very gentle but with many downward steps which is very bad for those with weak knees (ME)... but i survived... =) ...

The restaurant where we had our lunch...included in our tour... =)

still water, seafood appetiser (very fishy taste - no likey) and long bean pasta (also no likey)... so Mr Ang had 1 and 5/6 of lunch.... i only ate the bread that was serve before the meal... hahaha....

we were given the option to continue another 1.5 hours hike or to take the train to the next town.... after hearing that the second part of the hike will be even more difficult with a gentle slope up and a steep slope upward then down.... i went for the train option.... i want to declare we are NOT the only 2 of the at least 40 people on the trip to opt for train..... there were at least 10-15 of us.... hahaha... so while the rest continued with their hike, we took the train and snapped more photos along the way....

look at the cute cute drawing of the colourful colourful houses inthe town of Corniglia

Giant bunch of bougainvilla.... how come singapore ones dont grow so big???
the train station is just beside the sea......

Another gelato shop....luv luv...they are everywhere..... =)

At the sexiest beach in the world as voted in 2007...wonder why since i dun see any sexy naked people around....oopx..... hahahaha.... although the sea water looked inviting but look at the gravels ....oh my god...how come this beach got no sand one????

And while we suntan (sort of) on this bench, Mr Ang and I added a part 2 to our bet as documented in http://tangtang-land.blogspot.com/2010/08/my-incentive-to-stay-size-i-am.html

it used to be that he would reward me 1k for every wedding anniversary that i can fit into my wedding dresses (btw, i will be only keeping the white one and the qipao)... now the clause to the contact is

- i will only get my 1k if Mr Ang did not slim back to his tall tall thin thin size with 6 pack while i can still fit into my wedding dresses... =)

and i can say he will work super hard to save that 1k.... hahaha...which is something i dun mind... =) ... seeing the rate that he is expanding, i m worried that by the time he finishes his uni days, he will be twice the size now... wahahaha....

Back to the photos of Cinque Terres:

The boat ride was cancelled due to the strong waves so each of us gotten a free drink from the bar below instead.... know what is the most expensive item on the drink menu which include cuppucino, wine and soft drinks?????? it's coke....hahahaha....

Entrance to the "Path of Love" - the heart of locks

lovers bar for meals

lovers lodge @ night

We had planned to take a photo of a green green tree in Europe to be the second tree in our living room as recommended by our 风水师... but.... the trees we saw were all botak botak or balding one or should i say in the midst of growing new leaves since it's gonna be summer... hahahaha....

Mr Ang with the 2 hearts of locks at the end of the "Path of Love"

seagull sending us off... =)

Train station where the coach was waiting to send us back to florence - 2 hours drive away....

reached florence station at 9pm.... super hungry.... dashed into our favourite restaurant for dinner and room sweet room soon after.... i was so tired that i slept without bathing.... oopx.... i'm a dirty dirty girl that night.... hahahaha... luckily, the weather was very cooling, the air was very dry hence no sticky sticky feeling.... =P

Cinqin Terres is a must must must visit place....a pity that we din get to have the boat ride due to the waves but the view and the hiking experience made it all worth it... my best day in europe so far ....many many thumbs up.... the guide, douglas, was wonderful too.... very humourous, very efficient and very helpful....

We booked the trip via VIATOR and it cost us S$155 each.... the company is called WALKABOUT... more info - http://www.walkaboutpass.com/nqcontent.cfm?a_name=cinque_terre_trek_liguria
