travelling to ROME

Travelling to ROME

exciting duo on the way to honeymooning... =)

洪爸爸,洪妈妈 and 洪大哥 dropped us off at the airport and treated us dinner @

was too hungry to take any photo of the food but the food was SUPER yummilious, except the dessert, which were so so only.... =D

Yong Yuan and Zun Kit came to send us off too... and accompanied us from 9+ all the way to 11+ till the gate is opened for boarding ... =)

The entertainment set ...=)..... my best friend for the flight.... did my first movie marathon... Toy Story 1, 2 and 3.... hahaha....

flew by emirates, S$819 each from Singapore to Rome, including taxes.... cheap, alot of you might say but came at a price de lo.... the time from which the plane departed from singapore changi airport to the time we reached rome airport is a bloody 18.5 hours..... really sit until 屁股开花.... 3.5 hours flight to colombo for a drop off and pick up that lasted approx an hour and which is something that we were not informed of.... followed by another 4.5 hours flight to dubai for a 3 hour transit then followed by another 6.5 hours flight to rome.... we were even seated 3 rows apart from Dubai to Rome lo... angry and jealous...cos i was sitting next to a couple who were cuddling up to each other the ENTIRE time.... must be on their honeymoon also....

but food was very good though....love the coffee mousse cake and the blueberry cheese cake they served as desserts... =) ...and their service was really good too... they really feed us so well that i had to reject a meal (full course) cos i was too full from the previous meal which i thought was just served a few hours ago only lo.... they kept serving drinks throughout the flight too.... bet you wun have the chance to press any buttons to ask for drink de lo...

at Dubai airport.... the atmoshpere feels just like singapore with the shops, the deco and the things they sell.... the only difference is that there are many many different nationalities walking all over....

we already looked this tired halfway through the journey at Dubai

How to waste the 2-3 hours of transit time leh???......STARBUCKS TIME lo...... Our first purchase for the trip..... caramel frappucino for me and mocca frappucino for him.... 21AED = US$12 FOR 2.... so is approx the same price or slightly higher than ours???

looking for gate 213..... Where????

FINALLY REACHED ROME LIAO

very easy to locate the train station at the airport, just look for the signage with the logo of a train......so is a right from the departure gate, down the escalator, through the underpass, up a few escalators and tatatata... in less than 10 minutes, will reach the train station liao... =)

train tickets to Termini Station - the train station nearest to our Bed & Breakfast... 14 euro each....can be bought from any of the 3 stores in the station... all same price de.... yes, i had checked them out one by one.... cos based on my research, supposed to be 11 euro only lo... guess my data is outdated bah...should have factor in inflation.... hahahaha....

The famous validating machine..... All tickets have to be sloted into this machine before boarding the train... it was supposed to make some markings so that the ticket cannot be reuse.... it's okay to miss a train as the ticket is valid for 90 minutes... interval between this services is approx half an hour

choo choo choo choo...... in came the train... very punctual... =)

very oldies kind....

but modernised seats inside the train carriage, trains travel at approx 85km/h, nothing much of a view on the way from the airport to Termini... we could spot Kranji and Mandai area along the way.... hahahaha.... train left station at 3.07pm and arrived at Termini Station at 3.39pm...it's a one stop journey... =)

a sick (voiceless) and tired Mr Ang

a lot of walking before we finally found our Bed & Breakfast place.... took a wrong turn and walked alot of 冤枉路...but what's new when i m the one leading lo.... hahahaha.... and it dosen help when it was raining too.... sianx....

the reception and the rooms were in 2 separate buildings which are 5 minutes walk from each other... the lady couldnt speak English... i found out that i can be a very good charade player as i managed to guess everything that she wanna tell us without much difficulties... hahahaha....

din managed to get a photo of the room as we messed it up the moment we entered the room.... we literally threw our bags on the floor, removed our shoes and flung ourselves onto the bed....we were damn damn damn damn damn tired.....

the toilet with the left being the shower area... very basic but clean... =)

the view outside our room which was on the 5th level

The name of this Bed and Breakfast place is Dreaming Roma.... paid 300 euro for 4 nights... best point is free wifi... =) .... second best point is that it is very near to the train station so making travelling very easy...third best point is they do housekeeping everyday with a new change of towets.. =)...and they provide breakfast at additional 5 euro each which we decided not to take up....

bad point is the rooms are located away from the recep so basically no recep to ask for info...luckily we did our own research so we have no difficulties in getting around.... people around rome could speak pretty okay english so even if we gotten lost (which is alot of times), we can easily seek help and be directed back to the right path... =) ...another not so good point is that air con is available at additional charge... as temperature is really cooling in rome now, we did not ask for air conditioning so cant really share how much do they charge... another interesting thing is that all Bed and Breakfast collect city tax... on the net, it stated 2 euro per stayer per night.... but we were only charged 1.50 euro each per night.... yippy!!!....

our "first" photo in rome.... refuse to take any photo cos i looked damn tired and shag after the long flight and without any make up lo.... =s
