Doing Good in 2018

signed up with Mummy Yummy to distribute packet bee hoon to low-income families in Ang Mo Kio... (January)

signed up with BeKindSG to engage the home's residents in CNY craftivities... (January)

more craftivities with the residents at the home... (March)

Creating Awareness and Promoting Kindness @ the Kindness Carnival with craftivities (May)

Part of the team to arrange two flower baskets each to gift to the health care staff at Institute of Mental Health as part of Celebrating Everyday's Hero during Nurses' Week (July)

Assisted the home's residents to make towel rabbits to gift to the healthcare staff @ the home as part of Celebrating Everyday's Hero during Nurses' Week (August)

Partnered a client of Me Too! Club @ Minds for their paper flower activity. (November)

am damn proud of myself for spotting a trick to get my partner to be involved in the drawing, cutting and pasting --> placing the item to be done on her lap, which 'forced' her to pick it up to place it on the table, hence releasing her fingers from a tight fist condition enough for me to 'manipulate' them into holding the marker, scissors and glue stick...  high-fiving at completing every step is a must too... =D

part of the team that stayed for lunch at APSN Cafe for All & Aston Express

purchased $100 worth of cookies from the APSN baking department too... the Royale cookies which we baked together with two of their students last year were really good... hope this year's double chocolate chips cookies will be equally good...

help out once again at the craft station during the year end carnival @ the Home organised by BeKindSG (November)

one of the residents happened to colour the drawing sheet i drew as sample for my art club members for their VIA activity ...

together with Lene, we volunteered with Project Awareness - Share & Walk with Me for its Xmas gift distribution to kids and bee hoon for the elderly living at the rental flats in Woodlands (December)

scratch head... is there people staying in this unit?!?!?!

back at the welfare home for their xmas special in December as a mini sponsor and a volunteer to help the residents paint their nails...

my first customer

paid for Mac lunch for some of the residents during two of their outings to Esplanade and Science Centre with the volunteers from BeKindSG... apparently, the residents love Mac... =D

even got my nails pretty the 'Kinder' way by having them done at The Nail Social, Singapore's first socially conscious salon that was established with the aim of providing vocational training and employment to local marginalised women with a higher barrier to employment, so as to help them progress from a position of vulnerability to security and self-sufficiency.

under the influence of Huifang, i am taking tiny steps to go a little more green this year by having your water-bottle in my bag every work day for my once or twice a week teh-peng and honey green tea with bubble from koi...

finally putting the freebie jap doll food container to good use too...has been using it for school catered lunch during work-weeks so as to reduce the use of disposable plates & cutlery
still remember how i insisted on buying 4 x 1.5 litre of not so nice green tea and ice lemon tea just to redeem this food container because it looks cute though i had no use for it at that time... =P

bringing my own shopping bag out whenever possible...

setting up a separate recycle bin at home sweet home

Day 3 @ Genting

Alfred rushed into the room excitedly to announce that we were surrounded by clouds....
can tell that mummy was all ready for the day while i just got out of bed... =P

passed by this pretty area after we checked out where we spent a good 20+ minute playing with the panorama function on Alfred's phone again.... =D

followed by the agonizing 10 hour bus ride back to Singapore

Day 2 @ Genting

woke up to this in the living room... Alfred decided to be 厅长 instead of sleeping on the queen size bed...

could see Genting from our apartment balcony

straight ahead view VS down under view from our apartment balcony

the building our apartment was in

we were hungry and ready to feast by 9.30am but all the mushroom farm restaurant would only be opened at 11am... so we decided to Grab up to Genting to fill our tummy instead...

checked out the highly raved burger & lobster restaurant

decided that the queue was not worth it....

headed for the Chinese restaurant that serves cute cute pastry & baos

lotus birdies

流沙包

豆沙包 that looks like Alfred.... wahahahaha

glutinous flour mice - chewy chewy one....

大老鼠 & 三只小老鼠

one of the best brinjal pot i have tried....

green dragon veg which Alvin highly recommended.... nice!

addictive mala noodles which sent me coughing with every bite....

caught Aquaman movie after lunch.... great movie... would be even better without the ridiculous censorship

finally popped into the casino for a look see look see.... couldnt understand all but ONE game so we put together $300rm and entertained ourselves at this zodiac roulette
we witnessed how lucky a thai woman was when she sat down, exchanged $1000rm into chips and within 2 rounds, she won $8000rm by betting $200rm on 财神爷 which has only ONE slot of that big wheel....

$300rm at the casino lasted a good half an hour of thrill & excitement ....

in the near future, people can ziplined down this aisle @ such affordable prices... why isn't it open yet?!?!?!?!

Alvin took his chance at this humongous Eggubator @ $50rm per egg and won a lego inspired train set.... he kept the train set, i kept the empty egg that held the voucher for the exchange.... the little girl after him won an induction cooker - the gal was extremely sad.... =S

bought this set of clip-on earrings

multiple failed attempt at taking a panorama shot during dinner at the korean bbq restaurant

the boy boy at the next table was so intrigued by me that he
decided to join in... what a great laugh we had when we reviewed the pictures much much later while waiting for Alvin, mummy and me to finish playing toilet tag... =S
