Pups update 2019

was doing phone spring cleaning and just had to archive all these cute pics of the pups  ....  the last blog about the pups was back in 2013 ... omg... i m such a lazy 狗妈妈...

Brownie Ang aka 胖胖 has grown into my sticky pie who loves to squeeze between me and the sofa/pillow

her favourite hideout is in my toilet when she is frightened; when birds flew in to eat her biscuits or when she peed where she shouldnt ... =S

her fluffiness can be beyond cute max 2 weeks before her grooming.....

Diaper Time

Whose diaper is this????

How come there's a hole in the diaper de???

cos it's for Brownie's tail to go through ... =) 

our Brownie is in heat now.... *shy shy*... and have to be in diaper for the next 10+ day...else she will not be allow out to play oh

and why are they in clothing this round leh??? cos snowy caught a cold while lying down on the cold cold marble floor on a cold cold rainy day....she has been sneezing and her record was 5 consecutive sneezes..... it's so funny hearing a pup sneeze non-stop.... hahahaha.... oopx.... 

another interesting thing about the pups...whenever Mr Ang and I are too engrossed in doing our own stuff, this will be what we will find when we go into the kitchen...

this is our pups' favourite hobby.... SOCKS BUFFET..... they love love love super mad love Mr Ang's socks.... they will bite the socks out onto their favourite mat even when we hid them behind the laundry basket..... they are always not happy with one sock each....they just have to bite ALL of them out ... =S

My Unique Pups

since november 2011, my snowy has never been the same again....first she suffered from depression.....

the depressed patient...look at her sad sad eyes.... =(

thinking that we had abandoned her with the groomer, she would sulk herself at one corner of the cage the whole day (for many many days) and refused to come out to play......and would shiver when we carried her out of the cage.... 

went online to do some research and found out that most depressed dogs will walk out of their depression within 6 months and even if we had brought her to the vet immediately, the vet would not be able to do anything (they would not prescribe any medication too) until 6 months later.... =S

then a few days after she returned from the groomer, i found a few small small scabs around her neck, behind her ears and on her body.... =(.... initially i thought they were wounds from the grooming and since they had dried up, i decided to overlook it....

then during bath time a week later, i found new wounds....so not the groomer's fault..... then i suspected that brownie must be bullying snowy and had caused all those wounds during their rough play... so i observed how the 2 pups play and concluded tat it was not brownie....

got very very worried and immediately took her to the vet....and oh boy.... a visit to the vet really burnt a large hole in my pocket... bought antibiotic, medicated shampoo and conditioner, did a heartworm test and bought heartworm prevention tablets.... total damage> $241...

vet said that the wounds are due to allergies.... but need alot of trial and error to determine what snowy is allergic to.... could be flea bite that she gotten at the groomer's place...could be the dog snacks that we have been feeding her...or even the dog food.... and dogs with skin problem (allergy) will have them throughout their life time.... =S.....

putting this allergy issue aside, her eating habit is killing me and bringing my tolerance level to a new high lo..... she has to be fed...sometimes by spoon....sometimes by hand....and sometimes laid out on the floor bit by bit....it all depends on her MOOD on how she wants to be fed..... 

 she will take her own sweet time to inspect her food.... 东看看, 西看看, 东闻闻, 西闻闻...walk abit here, walk abit there....can take up to 20 minutes to finish her 3 scoops of dog biscuits lo..... and if i get annoyed and raised my voice a little (just a little), she will 'act' panic and jump back into her cage to hide in one corner......then i will feel guilty.....argh.....我真的是宰在这只小不点的手上..... 做主人做到这样也真是可怜阿.... =(

on the other hand, brownie is super easy to look after...no skin allergy, has super fluffy fur that makes her look super round and cute and cuddly....and would gobble up her food every single time.... and she is so 乖 that she wun snatch snowy's food although she is very 'gian'....

she will wait patiently for snowy to drop a few biscuits out of the bowl every now and then and dash to gobble them up but will never eat them from snowy's bowl.... heee..... and when i "erm-hum"....she wun even dare to eat those that were dropped out of the bowl lo.... and she's the one who will pop by the sofa where i 趴趴 to ask for a pat or a hug so often when she's let out to play.... heeee....

2 dogs.....siblings......but totally different characteristics..... one more 麻烦 than the other one but we still luv them both..... Mr Ang luvs brownie more cos of her joviness so i have to luv snowy more for her princessness bah.....must be fair cos i m a libra.... heee.....

Toothless

i loved it max max lo.... i was so crazy over it that i called my baby 'baby toothless' for days after watching the movie.... heee... =).... this was only one of the two additional nicknames baby had from me in her 7.5 years with us...the other one was 蔡宝贝 ... copied after 紀宝贝 (the name of a super cute white maltese) from the show 命中注定我愛你....

anyway, got a rude shock when i saw the text "Your dog drop a tooth!" and "Found another tooth. No idea whose it is...i am a little freak out by it... T.T"....from angela in my message inbox on friday while i was in school...

immediately contacted julius (pups' groomer) only to find out that there's no call for panic.... just like human, pups have a set of milk teeth that will be replace by the time they are 8 - 9 months old.... wahahaha.....so cute one.... pups got teething problem too... how come i dun recall my baby and dash dash going thru that when they were pups.... hmmmm.....

did a bit of reading from the net and this is what i gotten.....


"Puppies are initially born without teeth. They do not receive their first puppy teeth until they reach the age of between six and eight weeks old. They grow a total of 28 teeth, which are known as baby teeth or deciduous teeth. The first teeth that fall out are the incisor teeth, followed by the premolars and the canines. Puppies do not have molar teeth, only premolars. Their upper and lower canine teeth are at the back of their mouths and are larger. Their upper and lower incisor teeth are located in the middle.

For puppies, the teething process continues for several months, off and on. For a puppy, this can be an uncomfortable and painful period. When puppies are teething, they increase their biting and chewing and test out different objects and texture to relieve the discomfort.

Between the ages of three months and seven months, a puppy begins to lose its deciduous teeth. Each deciduous tooth root will generally be absorbed by the adult tooth, though there are instances where this does not properly occur. At three months, the incisors begin to fall out to make room for the new adult teeth. At the age of four months, the adult molars and adult canines are beginning to come in. Between the ages of six and seven months, the adult molars will come in. Finally, by seven to eight months, the full set of adult teeth should have come in.

By the time a puppy is eight months old, it should have a full set of a total of 42 teeth, but some breeds have more or fewer. Bathing The Pups

This is the most enjoyable yet most challenging chore that i have to do every week. The pups are just so afraid of bathing...they will wriggle and squirm and in fact they start to hide whenever i start filling the pail with water...

bathing them equals to bathing myself (with clothes on) as well as they will try to seek comfort from me while they are being bathed....brownie will even use her front paws to hug my arms lo...... see me planting kisses to sooth snowy's anxiety ...

Second step .... blow dry...whoooowhooowhooo.... 

Last step.....apply baby powder....

Last last step...cleaning the ears and wiping away the brown tear stains.... 

their tear stains are not getting any better despite wiping them with wet tissue at least once a day.... =( 

pups @ 3r3r4 months old

coincidentally, pups' hatchday is also on 10th May...same as Mr Ang... =) ... so in another week's time, they will be 4 months and comparing it to a human's age.... they are considered to be around 28 months liao oh....

within the 2 months that they are with us, they have learnt how to remain seated when papa is giving out treats treats ... =)

they had also learnt to return to the tray of newspaper to pee and poo when they are let out to play and also not to go into the living room.... their playground is limited to the kitchen for now as we find that they tend to forget to pee and poo at the correct place when they are too far away.... boundaries can always be redrawn as they grow older.... =).... brownie has also learnt not to snatch snowy's food after she has finished with hers.... great effort on her part!!!....good dogthers we have....heee

they luv to play the game called "attack daddy"... hahaha ... and daddy has difficulty differentiating them apart...wahahaha.... lousy daddy ...;P

and they luv to snuggle up to mummy when mummy returns after a long day at work....

and yes, they do wait patiently in turn to be cuddled too... =)

approximate spending on them is $83 for grooming and transportation every 2 months.... $28 per pack of dog food every 1.5 months.... $3 per pack of tissue wipe to clean the cage every 3 weeks..... so i guess that's less than $100 per month bah.... =)

It's weird how one decision will lead to the other decision and so on and so fro till it ended up with 2 maltese pups in our home sweet home...

Today is Youth Day. The Youth Day in 2009 was our first date...

initially, planned to go universal studio to celebrate Mr Ang's birthday + Angela's birthday + our first date anniversary all together...

We had planned to reach there only in the late afternoon as me dun wanna to be in the sun for too long ... no likey the hot hot sticky sticky feeling.... hahaha... just wanna go there look see look see then take photos can liao... not planning to take any rides....hahaha.... i know...waste money to go since i dun take rides... but the rides are either too scary or too kiddy isnt it??? and almost everybody had went le so i must also go la... dosen matter that i dun like theme park rides but i do like theme park deco to take photos ah... =)

anyway, Mr Ang's tuition kids (2 of them) for last week (because of all sort of reasons) had to have tuition this morning.... seeing his schedule like that, i also cancelled one of yesterday's lesson to this morning.... resulting in me reaching home at 4+pm yesterday....

we have been talking abt buying puppy, especially after baby died... but never get about doing it... cos who to look after them leh??? Mr Ang and I are not at home in the day time, puppy will be very lonely de wor... then Mr Ang say: we buy two puppies lo... they can keep each other company when we are not around lo....

wor...not one, but 2 puppies leh.... luv luv... so went online to check out some doggy adoption websites... all the dogs were either young and big (not suitable for our 4 room flat) or small and old (think will be difficult to train)... so we decided to just head to my Julius's pet shop lo.... BENJI at Jalan Kembagan... and all these decisions were made within 1 hour... hahahaha... but that dosen mean that we cant be good dog owners oh...

but we will see how it goes bah... so far enjoyed our first day as 狗爸爸狗妈妈...had fun watching Mr Ang as he tried to toilet train them with his lecturing (in hokkien)...wahaha... had fun waiting (for an hour) for them to pee after their dinner before letting them out to play ... they are so small and furry and cuddly...mad love for them lo... we are like so happy when they finally pee... hahaha.... it means it's time for us to play with them too... hahahaha....

and since posted about the pups in facebook... i machiam having second round of house warming lo... hahaha.... so far, got 3 groups of friends on my side that are planning to make another visit to home sweet home to visit the pups and some of Mr Ang's friends are also making arrangement.... hahaha....

Our pups are just too attractive lo... =)
