Apple Power

Can you identify the 3 apples and their significances in the world today????

or do you prefer the apple that has the power to bring everyone back to our younger days....=P

finally watched it today with the Mr....a super successful movie that has both girls (the apples) and guys (the apples chasers) gonna goo-goo-gaa-gaa over it for the past few weeks.....have friends who watched it more than once, even thrice and those who bought the book and not forgetting those who could recite what was said in the movie.....

it's not a typical romance story ... but also cant say that it's a comedy.... it's definitely not for the very young though....got lots of COLOURFUL languages, lots of indecent exposure, lots of sexual scenes (though none of them were romantic at all) .... overall, a simple movie that tugs at the heart....laugh my heart out and cried my eyes out as well.... but totally agree with what 沈佳宜 said while looking at the moon on 921...

to me, puppy crush should just remain as puppy crush so that the perfect feeling for each other can last till the end and if we meet 10 years, 20 years down the road, we can still be friends and when we look at each other in the eye, we know that we are still each other's special someone.... the one that we once like so deeply and so innocently yet for one reason or another didnt get to be together.....or couldnt last till the end....

this show reminded me of another sweet show about first love
this one have happy ending.... 😍😍😍

yeimun's wedding

met james at kovan mrt station to hitch a ride to fort canning....bet it's the last time james gonna give me a lift to anywhere else liao cos not only did i make him tear $2 worth of carpark coupon for a carpark charges that ended at 5pm when we reached at 7pm, i made him and charles walk the route indicated by the red arrows where we could have walked the one indicated by the blue arrow..... oopx....

i m just such a 路痴 lo.... i have been to fort canning park twice for ballet under the stars in 2009 and 2010 and once for our pre-wedding shot in june 2010... i had also been to the Legend twice, once for teachers' day dinner in 2008 and once for the key personnel retreat in 2010....all these equate to 5 times in the last 3 years of which 3 visits were made last year and i could still make them walk ONE BIG ROUND......

we were seated at table

...with PTL... though seated abit far from the front but the good thing about the legend is that they have many many projector screens and we are just seated right in front of one.... =) ...so could still have a very good view on what is happening in front and also got to watch all their dating  montage and pre-wedding photos that were put on loop clearly... =)

yummy yummy menu.... =)

the happy couple working hard at popping the champagne...

not forgetting the super portable interesting mahjong card set as wedding flavour

the 6 of us from the 24th student council with our happily married couple, Mr and Mrs Ho....

My CCAs as a teacher-in-charge

was with the basketball team when i did my contract teaching @ TGPS.... instead of training the kids, i was more like the maid lo....hahaha...i know nuts about the game so all i could do was help the players look after their belongings, get them water, clear their rubbish etc etc and of cos talked to the cute referees during the tournaments....hahahaha....

then i was placed in badminton cca when i first joined my current school...somehow i gave school leaders the impression that i'm damn sporty la...always put me in sports....=S.... the change finally came in my second year of teaching after i wrote in my year-end request form that i was in dance in sec and jc and hope to be in a dance cca... was really glad they started a brand new cca - modern jazz - just for me....

recruited my first batch of P4 dancers and the response was amazing... i easily gotten 30+ dancers and the dance room was forever too small for us....

the company which our school engaged was so sweet, they gave each of the girl a set of dance wear which sadly the girls had to be forced to put them on for every practice... the girls were just not comfortable in wearing such tight and girlish dance wear that in the end, all these dance wear were just kept in the metal cupboard till today.... =(

first batch of top 12 dancers who went for our first performance at east coast

bearing in mind that they are only 10 years old, had only 3 months of dance training for only once a week and most do not have any dance background before joining the cca.....

The same dance was extended for the CSTD dance competition 5 months later and we received the honourable commendable award... =)

this dance was then further extended for the International Art Festival dance competition @ Genting in november that year where they receive a silver award.... =)... super good achievement given that it was our very first year.....

but as this batch of girls went on to primary 5, many of them dropped out of the cca as they found it a strain to juggle studies and dance practices... =(

a major restructure to the core dance group and we managed to still achieve a bronze in our first attempt at SYF with the following dance

other major round of restructuring after the  SYF as more and more P5 dancers were forced to give up the cca by their parents... =(

and i was left with a few P5 and many many P2s and P3s, all new to the CCA,....recruitment was only held in July but my instructor still managed to come up with something simple for this almost brand new batch of dancers...

despite all the difficulties, we managed to still receive a bronze award at the International Art Festival with the following dance in the black costume below....

but me being me was not satisfied.... not with the kids' performance but with the dance.... wanted a breakthrough.... and was getting a little disappointed with the type of dances that were being choreographed as somehow they were all not up to my expectation...they were just lacking the wow factor that i saw in the very first dance....

did many many research online, watched many many dance videos on youtube and finally i drafted my very first dance storyline for my instructor to choreograph the dance and i can finally say it one more time....i love my current dance.... heee.... but cant showcase it yet cos it's meant to be for SYF next year.....

then why this blog post right???? well, i was just being a little sentimental cos my first batch of dancers will be graduating this year, which is like in a week's time,...out of the initial 30+ recruited 3 years ago when they were in P4, only 6 of them remained till today and coming friday will be their last performance in the school and i'm really glad they enjoyed this last dance....

as much as i'm always correcting their dance moves, shouting at them to put in more energy into each and every step, yelling at them when they forgot their steps, threatening to pull them out of the performance, i'm super proud to see their progress in dance in these 3 years of training... =) ...really hope that they can continue to enjoy dance in their sec life and all the years ahead....

*special thanks to jasmine

 and jiayi

for remembering all the dance steps for me so that i can fine tune them with all the dancers before all competitions and performances....

thanks also to siti
for helping to collect this and collect that.....

 Not forgetting this trouble-maker, Amirah,

whose passion for dance is so big that she would turn up for all practices despite getting into all sort of nonsense that got her scolded left-right-up-down by me

my little Saifurah,
who is super shy but luv dancing so much that she still turned up for practices even when she was sick....and not forgetting to mention her mummy who is an excellent make-up artist... am really glad that her younger sister will be joining modern jazz next year.... woohoo....

    zefei,
who had improved so much in her 2 years with the dance troupe... =)

Last but not least, Yani,
who just joined us this last 2 months....super powerful dancer who belonged to the malay dance troupe... should have jump over earlier... hiphop is more ur style...yeah!!!....

gonna miss the all of you so much.... hugs hugs....

My CCAs as a student

started off with gymnastic class when i was in P3.... lasted only a few weeks as it was just too expensive to carry on.... it cost about $25 a month (why was i even paying for CCA???) and within these first few week, the instructor already made us buy gymnastic ball, ribbons and even hula hoop....

i quit after getting the ball.... this CCA was just too expensive for me.... =S....

then i was in athletic, just because it was at 3+ on a Friday afternoon, created an opportunity for the 4 of us to pop by Thomson Yahoo Wywy game centre in between school dismissal and CCA... =).... but soon, it got a little bored with just running around our pathetic school field that all 4 of us decided to just disappear from our CCA and extended the time we spent at wywy before heading off for home...=P

it was only when the school make CCA compulsory for all P6 pupils that i finally settled for science club where i had to complete project after project just to earn a botanist badge..... and this was where i met mei who later on was in the same class with me at HIHS... =)

it was compulsory for all HIHS pupils to have a sport and a club CCA... both mei and i went for the trial for badminton.... both failed to get in and ended up in volleyball ...a sport which i believe that none of us managed to master.... heee....

transferred to RSS in sec two and got conned into st john ambulance brigade.... hate marching in the sun, hate having to do change parade, hate getting bullied by childish seniors who thought that making juniors do degrading punishments and activities were fun and were considered team bonding, hate having to polish my shoes, basically hate everything except one about st john...luv the fact that i could be on duty during cross country .... no need to run the 3.2km every year ...=)

was also in modern dance.... a new CCA created by my then sec 2 form teacher and miraculously, i was just enrolled without my knowledge by the girl who conned me in into st john on the day when i was on ML....diao.... but i was glad....cos it means no more st john....woohoo....

although without any dance background, i grew to love dancing and performed in my very first SYF....the troupe managed to get a bronze on our first attempt which was pretty awesome la....

(with choir singers and chinese dancers on Speech Day)

went on to join chinese orchestra in CJ to learn how to play the yang qin ....

i was super not musically incline.....i didnt know when my yang qin was totally out of tune and needed tunning... even my instructor was super amazed that i could still play the whole song when my yang qin was totally off key.... hahahha.... another amazing thing was that i dun need to look at the scoresheet when i performed.... i couldnt multi task with looking at the score, listening to my orchestra mates and playing the instrument all at the same time.... i ended up memorising the whole song so that i would only need to listen and play... despite all the difficulties, i learnt how to play 2 songs in my 1.5 years in the CCA....hahahahaha......

i was also in the 24th student council.... my first experience of going for an interview with the teachers-in-charge, giving a speech in front of the whole school, giving out M&Ms to pull votes....

(with fellow council mates during investiture)

love the bond we had as a council, love the privilege of the council room and locker, love planning for orientation and after exam program, love investiture, love council camp, basically love everything about it....even the shitty stuff... hahahaha

one of my council mates was very into dancing and started a dance troupe in the beginning of year 2 just for the SYF... she invited me into the dance troupe and despite not having any teacher-in-charge and instructor, we secured a bronze... =)  ....

that's all for CCAs in my life as a student...=).... moving on to CCAs as a teacher.... =)

Toothless

remember this cartoon????

i loved it max max lo.... i was so crazy over it that i called my baby 'baby toothless' for days after watching the movie.... heee... =).... this was only one of the two additional nicknames baby had from me in her 7.5 years with us...the other one was 蔡宝贝 ... copied after 紀宝贝 (the name of a super cute white maltese) from the show 命中注定我愛你....

anyway, got a rude shock when i saw the text "Your dog drop a tooth!" and "Found another tooth. No idea whose it is...i am a little freak out by it... T.T"....from angela in my message inbox on friday while i was in school...

immediately contacted julius (pups' groomer) only to find out that there's no call for panic.... just like human, pups have a set of milk teeth that will be replace by the time they are 8 - 9 months old.... wahahaha.....so cute one.... pups got teething problem too... how come i dun recall my baby and dash dash going thru that when they were pups.... hmmmm.....

did a bit of reading from the net and this is what i gotten.....

"Puppies are initially born without teeth. They do not receive their first puppy teeth until they reach the age of between six and eight weeks old. They grow a total of 28 teeth, which are known as baby teeth or deciduous teeth. The first teeth that fall out are the incisor teeth, followed by the premolars and the canines. Puppies do not have molar teeth, only premolars. Their upper and lower canine teeth are at the back of their mouths and are larger. Their upper and lower incisor teeth are located in the middle.

For puppies, the teething process continues for several months, off and on. For a puppy, this can be an uncomfortable and painful period. When puppies are teething, they increase their biting and chewing and test out different objects and texture to relieve the discomfort.

Between the ages of three months and seven months, a puppy begins to lose its deciduous teeth. Each deciduous tooth root will generally be absorbed by the adult tooth, though there are instances where this does not properly occur. At three months, the incisors begin to fall out to make room for the new adult teeth. At the age of four months, the adult molars and adult canines are beginning to come in. Between the ages of six and seven months, the adult molars will come in. Finally, by seven to eight months, the full set of adult teeth should have come in.

By the time a puppy is eight months old, it should have a full set of a total of 42 teeth, but some breeds have more or fewer. The larger the dog, generally speaking, the faster the teeth will appear. Doberman pinchers are an example of dogs that have fewer teeth. Spaniels and greyhounds tend to have more teeth. At the age of between three months and four months, a puppy should be checked out by a veterinarian to make sure that there are no bite problems. If bad bite is occurring as a result of puppy teeth, pulling the baby teeth prematurely may be necessary."

a picture of 3 of their teeth that we managed to find around the kitchen....really hope they din swallow any....

ending off the post with a 'bo gai' snowy.....hahahaha....

lawba's wedding

been 4 years since i had long hair.... was contemplating if i should go back to being a 长发 '美女' again....heee.....but gave up after 5 months ....

my shoulder length hair was in a super big mess and was super floppy too... used Lawrence's wedding as an excuse to pay the hairdresser a visit and with some make-up on, i did look quite cute at age 30....hahahahaha.....

as the wedding was held in rasa sentosa, ah niu niu picked me up at st james carpark to head in together.... but guess what???....carpark full!!!!...was advised to park at the beach carpark and to take the free hotel transfer from there... ah niu was in a coat and i was in heels.... =S....

but the surprising thing was, we were still considered very early by the time we reached, so we decided to 自拍...

then along came edwin, who was one of the 兄弟s

and finally with the groom, who is finally married to his sweetheart of 8 years....

the centre piece on my table, apparently, 4 of the gnomes went missing from the wedding.... oopx...

the bride's gowns, all 3 of them were super duber mad chio..... this cheong sum above was the last one which she changed into....will try to steal photos of the other 2 once they are uploaded... =P....

we are always one table full at each other's wedding.... presenting 2S7 and associates.... 11 in total this round... 5 pretty babes;

Failed Tree Project

A brief intro to my failed tree project .... =(

was taking the train to school during the september school holiday when i realised that the row of trees planted along yio chu kang mrt station were all 99.9% botak, with only a branch of leaves left on each tree.... i was amazed that the huge trees could actually survive just based on the food produced and the amount of oxygen or carbon dioxide taken in or given out by the few leaves left dangling la.... and so i decided to take a picture of a particular tree that i labelled as 'MY tree' once every week....

i was hoping that i could 'chart' the growth of MY tree from botak till fully covered with leaves again.... and arrange the photos into a collage to be placed next to Mr Ang's study table....  风水师 said that we needs to have some green plants in that area for something something something which i forgot for what... hahahaha.....but nevermind...just put it up can liao......

it was fun to see the 'development' of MY tree through the photos though....

14 sept 2011 - with small twigs of leaves here and there

20 sept 2011- number of leaves had doubled or tripled

26 sept 2011 - continued to double and tripled

10 oct 2011- and somemore again... =)

it's fun to do comparison of the photos week after week to see the differences.... =)...it was my mini entertainment every week on my way to school.... heee....got a sense of ownership wor...hahaha.... cos it's a project on MY tree..... =)

due to PSLE marking from 17 - 20 october, i wasnt able to take any photo of MY tree that particular week before lending 洪妈妈 my camera.... =(...that's y there was a 3 weeks break although 洪妈妈's trip to 九寨沟 with 洪爸爸 was only about 2 weeks...

so was super duper happy when i finally had the chance to bring my camera along on my way to school once more... but to my horror..... the new platform screen doors at yio chu kang mrt totally 夭折 my project lo....sianx....i cant take any photo of MY tree without taking the screen doors together with it lo....

so sianx.... only managed to chart it for 4 weeks only.... haix....

so now, need to think of another plant project liao..... maybe i can just put together all the trees which my class drew for their nature drawing lesson.... heee...
