PDL Module B : Photography

Photography (New Media) was my favourite module back in NIE and it was one of only two practical modules where i scored an A... hee

once again it IS my favourite module this learning cycle cos it allowed me to learn and complete my assignments remotely, anywhere in the world of my choice and i chose JAPAN... 😂😂😂 

Assignment 1 > Popular Photography Trend

i decided on "Colour Hunting"... been seeing tons of it on my social media feeds... really fun especially when 'played' as a family... 

Alvin would ask "What's the colour of the day?" before we headed out each morning and everyone would be actively pointing the colour out randomly throughout the day... 😍😍😍

this challenge really did direct me to see things which i would not pay much attention to usually... some colours are easier than others... then it was pick & choose my 九宫格, colour edit, contrast edit, template choosing and 编排 - ing!!!

at the snail pace i'm painting, high chance painting module is gonna extend into the hols...

< Watercolour Painting >

luv directing kiddos to use watercolour as a background medium just cos the wet-on-wet technique is a quick and easy method to cover a huge area with a base colour and for the kiddos to clean up after usage... 

i know, not a valid reason why this medium is being used... that's why i made arting with it more my first PDL module.. =)

disappointed that jas's 6.57am text wasnt to tell me she couldnt make it > is me...😅😅😅

happy happy to find the right person to get my lazy bum bum moving!!! my last walk walk was in end Feb, also with jas!!! 

my photography style used to be 'waiting for everyone to exit my frame' or i snapped it from level 2 up to avoid capturing any people...  since PDL module B, it has evolved into 'waiting for that one person' to come into frame!!! 

hyee doggie.... i shall only smile at doggies on my walks from now on!!! 

22nd May (Fri)

1st dim sum venue > closed down liao, even the building was torn down liao

2nd dim sum venue > too far from where we were at

3rd dim sim venue > haven open at 9.30am

4th choice led us to the nearby 常满点心楼

this pan-fried cheese bun super duper nice!!! no complaints when i was arrowed to finish 3/4 of it even though i was supposed to be on a diet... 😅😅😅

kenna 'tricked' into ordering this LARGE teh peng

$6rm for a large teh peng and a total of $107rm for a 7-dish dim sum breakfast for 2... the price point in JB is really quite ridiculous, machiam is a city catered to those earning in singapore one... it's considered economical only because we had an exchange rate advantage...

Happy Mother's Day part 2

got a great deal for the Peranakan x Thai Buffet lunch @ Sun's Cafe, Hotel Grand Pacific via Klook... food was great!!! luv the roast pork, diy rojak station and the kueh kuehs... ate alot!!! 

蔡妈咪紧张到握紧拳头 even though there were 3 people making sure that she would be aright... 😅😅😅 

popped over to Cow Play Cow Moo, Suntec to exchange their many many many points for a CCTV for my home sweet home...

and our must-do in JB > massage!!!  

because we are 'young' and 'thin' so transport uncle always like to pack us into the last row of his vehicle... 😅

Pink stickers & washi tapes for a pink Mother's Day month in May... 

surprisingly.... it's not as fun decorating with stickers... 😅😅😅

has always love stickers since i was a little girl ... my favourite was the furry ones during primary school days, used stickers as decorations in my homework organisors in secondary school till uni days, still luvs looking at them now and will buy them as little gifts for my kiddos... 

these 'thematic' stickers & washi tapes sets at Mr DIY in Batam were really cute & cheap, less than S$2 per box so on the spot decided that Planner 2027 shall be sticker & washi tape theme to give me a valid reason to BUY them... 😍😍😍

bought these square grids exercise books at Muji in Tokyo thinking that they would be suitable as Planner 2027...   

"since it will be decorated with stickers & washi tapes, the pages need not be thick" i thought... 

wrong, wrong, wrong, terribly wrong!!! in my excitement at seeing a square grid book at a low price of 120 yen at the end of a long cold day, i forgot that i will need to draw lines, write words & numbers in the planner too... 

the pages are so thin that i can only use colour pencils to add on to the designs in this book; markers and even gel pens will bleed through... 😭😭😭

orange colour stickers must be use for the month that's associated with oranges and Feb shall be the month since CNY will be celebrated on 6th and 7th Feb in 2027.... 

*not very confirmed that 9 Feb would be a school holiday

i still like my 4-parts weekly layout; one whole page for work tasks, while the adjacent page is shared among a habit tracker, personal to-do tasks and a weekly art sketch, just that i'm unsure if Inktober #52 would be something that i wanna carry on into 2027... 

lanterns cutouts and rectangular signages were from cookie boxes received during CNY this feb... =)
