16th April

original plan : walk 4km from home sweet home to amk central to feast on pasar malam yummies

but thanks to this 一分为二, we tracked back to Joyce's car for her to change her shoes after about 1.5km 

impromptus change of plan, Joyce & I ended up at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant for its famous tau huay with chinese wolfberries.... 👍👍👍

day 1 ice-breaker : share on an item that represent DI to me as an art cher.... 

i had my water bottle, my tea cup and my wobbee during the sharing to represent that all 3 are water vessels (same same) but each of them brings joy & comfort to me at different parts of the day... just like how each and every kiddos are same same as my art kiddos yet learn most happily and comfortably when provided with choices of different content, process, product and learning environment...

day 2 ice-breaker :

i koped 4 handbells from the music room to share on the same same but different idea with today's participants... 

🎓  我 们 毕 业 了 !!!

1 year 4 months of attending lectures on tech teaching, planning tech art lessons, sharing on tech art lessons, refining tech art lessons, dry run after dry runs before finally presenting it to you and you and you and you...  

Congratulation to me, me, me.... 

I'm finally a 

besides the 3 神s as teammates who kept to deadlines, took on roles readily, responded to feedback immediately and could improved on our presentation on the spot, i have my PLT teammates who helped me with setting up the zoom chat function, testing out the zoom chatroom, teaching me how to play music in the zoom background & also Julia and Huishan who fed me on presentation day with bread & woobbee... 

i'm really really really thankful and blessed with amazing nice people around me...  😍😍😍

knowing how proud i am about this achievement.... cy changed my name on his hp.... wahahahaha.... 

rewarded myself with a good good dinner 

bonus : a restful long weekend with people i love.... woohoo!!!

first time trying this chongqing style of spicy grilled fish... we chose mild spiciness... look at the scary amount of chili and also the crazy amount of pepper seeds too.... 😱😱😱

Co:Creation Art Workshop

signed up for all the 3 workshops conducted in April... as teaching moves online, this series of workshop is a god-sent!!! 

facilitated by Nicola Choo, the awesome teacher who successfully taught me how to draw back in 2012 when i was a super beginning art-teacher-in-training and whose technique i am still using to encourage my kiddos to start their drawing practice on... if Ms 糖 can draw, so can they.... heee...

Guiding independent and Collaborative Art-Making online 

today's instructor, local dye artist Crystal Lee

lucky me received this free art kit by being one of the first 30 to sign up for the workshop... else i would have to scramble for my own materials so as to explore alongside the artist...

(from bottom up) evolution of a blob to a cherry blossom... 😂😂😂

had fun exploring dye but it's a messy messy kind of art creation that requires many many materials - not my kind of lesson but the group discussion on google slides, especially the "i need help" red button function is totally the 仙丹 that i was looking for to up my art teaching using tech... 😍😍😍

9th April

Extending Learning Beyond the Virtual Classroom

today's instructor, local artist Berny Tan

my creation during the workshop over a list of instruction such as:

underline words that represent the story characters 

circle words that represent actions

colour all the 'O's

cross out and join the first letter of the 7th word in each line

block out negative words 

create a rule and use a material of choice - i used silver & gold nail polish to dot all the 3 / 4 letter words in the 1st & 4th paragraph of a given text 

it was really interesting to see that although all participants were following the same set of rules, our master pieces were all different... this is such an interesting lesson that i will definitely try it out with my kiddos... 

16th April

today's instructor - Soh Ee Shaun 

received the free art kit for today's peace (mindfulness) painting but decided to use my own art materials for the activities instead... =) 

really quite therapeutic to be just painting strokes....
