Tissue Paper + Dirty Laundry + Washing Machine

it's wardrobe changing time for me when i met with the above equation... =) ....

My dear Mr Ang had forgot to empty his pocket of tissue paper before he threw his shorts into the wash approx 2 weeks ago...imagine our horror when we realised that our 'clean' laundry were super flaky when we were taking them out to dry at approx 11pm (we wash our laundry at 10pm every monday and thursday) .....

had a hard time shaking them off in the toilet.... was such a funny sight (now that i'm thinking abt it) when bits and pieces of tissue paper were floating in the air like snowflakes.... had to re-wash the whole basket of clothing the following night and had to throw away some clothing, the 毛毛 kind, which simply had too much tissue paper stuck on it... i threw away 2 track pants, a t-shirt, an inner top and an inner bottom while Mr Ang threw away a singlet and a pair of shorts.... my clothes are all the cheap cheap kind so wun feel heartache about throwing them away BUT by throwing away 2 pairs of track pants = I have no clothes to wear to work..... =(....

the last 2 weeks of school attire were disastrous.... i couldnt mix and match any decent outfit.... couldnt find enough dresses that covers the shoulder, in not striking colours, with no plunging necklines and are long enough to cover my knees...... to make matter worse, the last batch of clothing that i ordered from cleocats went missing in the mail.... first time lo....sianx.... 白白不见$200..... angry....but what to do????.... cheapskate dun wanna pay for registered mail just because normal mail is free lo.... really feel like slapping myself....no more online shopping for me liao....

i m starting to find fault with the inferior material that are used in most of these online clothings.... tend to be very light, flutters in the wind too much, very flimsy trimings etc....that's y i kept emphasizng that i need to get "decent" clothing.... and also not young anymore... cannot always wear so causal and young to work liao.... but come to think of it.... i have never work in a place that requires me to be well dress de lo....or maybe i was just too heck care about my dressing liao.... wahahaha...

anyway since bangkok trip for dec is cancelled as alfred cannot take leave due to some navy course he's attending, and my big three birthday is approaching, i had decided to pamper myself a little....me gonna to spend the air ticket and accomodation money that i had put aside for the trip, which is approx $400 to buy at least 10 work dresses the moment weekend lessons are over.... (last week of lesson this week...yippy ya yo)

criterias for work dresses:
1) cannot be in striking colours - else too striking for kiddos to concentrate
2) cannot be more than $35 each
3) must be near my knee length
4) no v neckline
5) must cover shoulder (prefer with a little sleeves)
6) cannot be translucent

so far gotten a greenish dress at $33.90 from one of the shop at amk hub... =)..... 9 more to go....

Bathing The Pups

This is the most enjoyable yet most challenging chore that i have to do every week. The pups are just so afraid of bathing...they will wriggle and squirm and in fact they start to hide whenever i start filling the pail with water...

bathing them equals to bathing myself (with clothes on) as well as they will try to seek comfort from me while they are being bathed....brownie will even use her front paws to hug my arms lo...... see me planting kisses to sooth snowy's anxiety ...

Snowy right after the bath with super messy fur....

Second step .... blow dry...whoooowhooowhooo....

Last step.....apply baby powder....

Last last step...cleaning the ears and wiping away the brown tear stains....
their tear stains are not getting any better despite wiping them with wet tissue at least once a day.... =(

我是大耳窿

8 or 9 years ago, a jc classmate borrowed $2k from me....sighting emergency health reasons relating to his liver.... knowing that he had borrowed from other classmates previously and that these lenders are still friends with him, i naively thought that he is the 有借有还,再借不难 kind of people....somemore he drives a sports car, has a pilot father and live in private estate one lo....but.....i found out that he has no intention of returning the money at all...in fact, he had asked another friend for help to borrow another $2k from me....and worse, friends told me that they had see him clubbing and drinking heavily....would someone borrow money to cure his liver problem continue to be drinking heavily???

i felt like some super duper carrot la..... cursed and sweared at him and forced him to return me my money....i m not that kind that have the thinking that lend people money then must have the 心里准备 to lose the money kind lo... i expect people to return me my hard save money one lo.....it took me more than a year of monthly swearing and super 长气 debt collecting skill to claim back most of it....think i gave up towards the last $260.... cos it can be really tiring to collect debt la...the emotional stress and unhappiness.....since then i had never lend any friends any money liao.....

not until this year.... i was already damn broke from the house cov and renovation.... but a friend requested to borrow $2k because of his mum's emergency health problem.... he promised to return the money within 2 weeks, immediately after his pay day..... but wait wait wait wait.... no news..... so sent him a text.... made another promise to do the transfer on that day and gave excuse for not returning on the first agreed date.... but then broke the second promise again..... and went on to break the 3rd and the 4th one till Mr Ang got really pissed....we had serious arguments over this matter at least twice..... and got me really upset cos i really dun wanna our relationship to be strain over other people yet i also dun wanna stress a friend to return the money...what if he really needs it urgently.....

up till now, he had returned a quarter of the sum.... dun know when's the remaining coming in....he explained that he had to go underground to get the money as legal lender and bank can't help..... feel bad that i have to force a friend into such a corner to return me my money but at the same time, the situation seems different from what he had explained to me when he asked me to lend him the money.... i'm confused...... part of me feel guilty and embarrassed for not being a friend in need..... and part of me feel cheated...... cant decide and confirm which is which now..... behaving like an ostrich now..... 等以后再说吧.....

end of sept hols with a korean dinner

decided to have a good good dinner to mark the end of my precious  sept hol.... and on joyce's recommendation, i brought Mr Ang to hougang mall only to find out that the restaurant was actually at heartland mall instead... hahaha.... luckily, both malls were considered nearby so we still managed to have our dinner close to 9pm.... =P

the chopsticks were super thin

the many many mini plates of 小菜...yummy....i finished all of them except the coleslaw

unique barbeque tray and ingredients....

pork belly (pinkish slices) and charcoal chicken (brownish slices)

our very own chef.....she was the waitress actually.... but upon seeing the helpless look on our faces, she knew that it was our first time at a korean barbeque restaurant...so she offered to prepare everything for us....thumbs up for their services... =)

the pork belly was so so only but this tray of charcoal chicken was super yummilicious.... especially the sauce.... =P

we ordered the spicy rice cake too.... cos vivian and xinying was talking about it the whole time when we had korean food the last round..... find it oki oki only leh.... very filling though and it was the only dish we couldnt finish as Mr Ang don't take spice and it was just too 腻 for me to stomach the whole plate by myself...

soya bean paste soup.... super yummy too.... we drank till the last bit where it got too powdery... wahahaha....

it was alot of food but we still managed to clear most of it.... total damage was $76 for both of us.... quite an interesting experience and will definitely be back for the hotpot soon.... =).... luv the service and their free flow of roasted barley drink....

Woo~woo~woo @ Pulau Ubin

an eager me waiting for bus 109 to bring me to changi jetty for the bumboat ride to Pulau Ubin...

2 catty and 'sporty' people who refused to pay to hire the van to bring us to the resort ended up hiking 2.4km in the hot hot sun....

the endless path ahead

and after 20 minutes, we finally reached....

the view outside our room sweet room.... nua-ed in the room for 3 hours before joyce decided that the sun-power was weak enough for us to venture out.... hahaha...cycled around for less than an hour and i decided that it was dinner time.... =) ....

all these for $33...dinner was not included in the deal..... we were the last customers despite walking into the restaurant at 630pm.... finished dinner an hour later and our woo~woo~woo~ adventures began..... the sun had set and there's no streetlights!!!!.... i did suggest hiring a van to get us back to our resort but joyce thought otherwise...so two 'gungho' ppl cycled from the jetty to the resort in twilight.... super scary la... i bet the speed which i was cycling at was the fastest my legs had even paddled... it was dark enough for my thoughts to wander... what if 'someone' decided to keep us cycling in circles???? what if 'someone' decided to hitch a ride with us???? what if 'someone' is........so to keep myself from thinking i further, i kept talking to joyce and asking her to speed up... but at the same time, i was afraid that i was disturbing 'someone'.... it was really a huge relief when i finally saw lights from the resort!!!!..... NO MORE CYCLING IN THE DARK.... EVER....

room sweet room.... bathed and tv watching with joyce.... the 6 lights went off, the tv blurred, then the lights came on one by one... and the whole cycle repeated itself, not once but at least 5 to 6 times....did 'someone' REALLY came back with us???? i starred at joyce, her eyes were popping out...guess i would have looked equally horrified too.... she suggested that i gave the recep a call....CHEY.......refueling generator so connection down for a while... the whole resort was flickering.... wahahaha..... silly us.... but that's really enough scare for the night.... =P

breakfast.... =)

then we headed for chek java.... 4.5 km away.... my butt was hurting from the cycling the previous day.... the bicycle seat was like pressing on the bruises on my butt lo... wahahaha.... agony seh..... and the upward slopes added salt to my wounds..... the ride there took at least 30 minutes of cycling and pushing and hiking.... why did my r&r trip became a workout trip??? cos i chose the wrong person to go with la....wahahaha..... should have chose someone as nua as me and not this exercise freak..... =P

the reason why i dun wanna have data plan.... this woman is hooked..... always starring at her phone....tsk tsk tsk..... dun know chatting with which guy lo???.... hahahaha..... had this silly grin throughout the whole trip while starring at her phone....
"disconnect (from ur phone) to stay connected (with me)"....know boh??? i jealous lo....

view @ chek java....din managed to see any sea creatures at the swampy area as the tides were too high.... but the view on the coastal boardwalk was pretty..=)

and after the exploration at chek java, i did what joyce termed the embarrassing act again....i hired a van to transport both of us and our bicycles back to the resort....wahahaha.... and this caused me $25...  =( ....but we were running short of time....we needed to check out by 11am.... and i knew i couldnt make it de....

Joyce is a curious cat.....asking driver auntie about the road tax in ubin and what do they do at night and in their free time.... 十万个为什么....

went back to bathe then headed out immediately to check out then for the marine feed area.....

there were many many many stingrays...about 10 or so.... this was the one closest to the shore.....

then the one hour fish spa which we tried for less than 15 minutes.... hahaha..... it was too ticklish for me.... maximum was only my heel

joyce was so much braver than me....

look at the swarm of fishes feeding off her.....

~ Lunch time ~

What we saw along the walk to the jetty to take the bumboat back the mainland.....

Joyce introduced this snack to me.....very yummy!!!!

overall, i would say this deal from deal.com ($54 each) is quite worth it despite scaring myself  over nothing during the night....it was more of poor time management on our own part..... the breakfast and lunch was satisfactory.... room and attached toilet were clean enough.... bed and blanket were comfy... fish spa was fun....the only negative point is the lack of transfer from the jetty to the resort and back... =(....
