Singapore's Q stands for Qoo10 - miniature series 1

though not a physical location in Singapore, but it is definitely one of the 'places' where i spent a hell lot of time in/on browsing through the many many items on sale in the many many 'stalls'.... this is where most of my shopping $$$$ goes to too....bought so many dresses, t-shirts, decal stickers and ling ling longs longs from qoo10 in these last few years lo... =S

anyway, was shopping in qoo10 some time back and chanced upon a miniature series.... just couldnt resist the temptation to buy one of them though i know i may not have the time and/or energy to complete it....

but who cares, buy first, think later.... wahahahaha....

as it was a pre-order purchase, i waited for about 2 weeks to receive it through registered mail....

Excited to see all the tiny tiny parts

yet cursing myself at the same time.... why oh why did i itchy backside go buy such stuff to deplete my energy with???

anyway, it came with a pretty pretty glass ball that i had been trying but failed to get since last year....

it came with an instruction booklet

that was in chinese.... so most of the time, i was relying on the graphics instead.... luckily, the graphics was rather easy to understand...

surprise, surprise.... the excitement gave me more than enough energy to start on it on the first night of receiving it, and it took me 3 nights and 1 full day to fit and glue the pieces bit by bit to complete the whole exterior of this mini up-uP-UP house model....

some of the bits were so tiny that i had to use my retired eyebrow plucker to help me 'kiap' them off the table or to hold them in place while i glued them together

by right, i was supposed to use a penknife to trim off certain pieces (eg: the roof) at certain angles so that they fit perfectly together, but by left, a little bit of imperfection dosen matter to me de lo.... heee

by another right, the inside of the house should be lighted like this pic below

and packed with all the even tinier furniture

and by another left, candy moi thinks nobody is gonna see the inside of the house anyway and so it shall be left empty like this....

oopxy!!!!

the wire connection instruction for the lightings was way way way too complicated for me to handle lo.... and the lights will definitely go off after a while and i know i would definitely not be bothered to change the battery after that so why bother to set it up in the first place now right???? heee

making the furniture was gonna to be much much much more tedious than making the exterior which already took me 3 nights and 1 full day as i had to measure, cut and sew the whole thing from the 5cm by 5cm square of fabrics provided and which i totally have no patience for..... =S

so i have decided to be contented with this 70% completed model... =D

And, the purple and green combi of the up up house fit my dopey corner on mr ang's shelf to a T.... happiness.... =D ... bet he din realise that it's there until he read this blog post lo....

am gonna clog up his shelf with more from this miniature series as there are at least 6 other designs .... heeee

so which one should i do next leh???

A stands for Alfred, Angela and Alvin
E stands for Emperor
F stands for Fairy Tales

H stands for Hubby
I stands for I
J stands for Jobs

                      K stands for Kitchen deco

i have to admit i am one of those irritating people who enjoys rearranging furniture around frequently.... lene and everyone in 蔡家 know best.... the position of my sleeping mattress and cupboard changed from one corner of the room to the other at least twice a year during sec & jc times back in the woodlands flat.

my habit only stopped when i moved to mimosa. cos 蔡 daddy customised a wardrobe for me that took up one wall, the attached toilet had the door smacked in the middle of another wall and a caved in hole for the super old aircon unit took up the 3rd wall means i was left with one last wall to place my bed against. =S

I faced the same problem now in home sweet home. Half the furniture are built in and the other half are in specific locations for fengshui purpose so in other words, i can't move any thing la... =S

that's the reason why i kept adding decal to the house till i feel that there's too much around liao.... =P

have the urge to make something more 3D instead.... surf surf surf and came across these simple and seems easy to be created diy stuff/deco for the kitchen... =)

hopefully i will be more motivated to get my hands working on some of these craft works real soon.... =D

Christmas corner in home sweet home

Christmas corner in home sweet home

with a trip to diaso and a trip to ntuc, i managed to create my very own, special, unique, only one in the world diy decal xmas tree... wahahahahha....

i say it looks like a xmas tree means it LOOKS like a xmas tree....wahahhaha...self hypnosis....

my personal xmas tree is still a disaster.... will try my best at beautifying it for the next few days ...planning to get the nighted bulbs.... and unless i'm satisfied with it will there be a blogpost about it... heee

Tissue Paper + Dirty Laundry + Washing Machine

it's wardrobe changing time for me when i met with the above equation... =) ....

My dear Mr Ang had forgot to empty his pocket of tissue paper before he threw his shorts into the wash approx 2 weeks ago...imagine our horror when we realised that our 'clean' laundry were super flaky when we were taking them out to dry at approx 11pm (we wash our laundry at 10pm every monday and thursday) .....

had a hard time shaking them off in the toilet.... was such a funny sight (now that i'm thinking abt it) when bits and pieces of tissue paper were floating in the air like snowflakes.... had to re-wash the whole basket of clothing the following night and had to throw away some clothing, the 毛毛 kind, which simply had too much tissue paper stuck on it... i threw away 2 track pants, a t-shirt, an inner top and an inner bottom while Mr Ang threw away a singlet and a pair of shorts.... my clothes are all the cheap cheap kind so wun feel heartache about throwing them away BUT by throwing away 2 pairs of track pants = I have no clothes to wear to work..... =(....

the last 2 weeks of school attire were disastrous.... i couldnt mix and match any decent outfit.... couldnt find enough dresses that covers the shoulder, in not striking colours, with no plunging necklines and are long enough to cover my knees...... to make matter worse, the last batch of clothing that i ordered from cleocats went missing in the mail.... first time lo....sianx.... 白白不见$200..... angry....but what to do????.... cheapskate dun wanna pay for registered mail just because normal mail is free lo.... really feel like slapping myself....no more online shopping for me liao....

i m starting to find fault with the inferior material that are used in most of these online clothings.... tend to be very light, flutters in the wind too much, very flimsy trimings etc....that's y i kept emphasizng that i need to get "decent" clothing.... and also not young anymore... cannot always wear so causal and young to work liao.... but come to think of it.... i have never work in a place that requires me to be well dress de lo....or maybe i was just too heck care about my dressing liao.... wahahaha...

anyway since bangkok trip for dec is cancelled as alfred cannot take leave due to some navy course he's attending, and my big three birthday is approaching, i had decided to pamper myself a little....me gonna to spend the air ticket and accomodation money that i had put aside for the trip, which is approx $400 to buy at least 10 work dresses the moment weekend lessons are over.... (last week of lesson this week...yippy ya yo)

criterias for work dresses:
1) cannot be in striking colours - else too striking for kiddos to concentrate
2) cannot be more than $35 each
3) must be near my knee length
4) no v neckline
5) must cover shoulder (prefer with a little sleeves)
6) cannot be translucent

so far gotten a greenish dress at $33.90 from one of the shop at amk hub... =)..... 9 more to go....

housework

Housework!!!

i hate doing housework.... if given a choice, i rather teach two more tuition every week to earn the extra to pay for a maid to do all the housework than to do it myself.... two more tuition = 4 hours of teaching every week.... no sweat, no stinky smell, no detergent, no disgusting stuff....just have to sit and explain to a kiddo about math and sci for 2 hours straight per lesson.... good deal right????

but if get a maid, then cannot have 二人世界 with Mr Ang, and the fact that Mr Ang and I are not home most of the time, the maid that we gonna get will be queen of the house la.... so no no no no no..... thought of getting those part time cleaner who comes in once a week to do all the vacuuming, mopping, washing, ironing etc.... heard it only cost $10 - $12 per hour.... so, for less than $150 a month, we dun need to do housework.... also good deal hor???

but Mr Ang dun like.... he prefers to look after his own home sweet home so i'm forced to look after our home sweet home too.... while he's in charge of vacuuming and mopping the floor, i m in charge of ironing the clothes.... he's in charge of washing the clothes and to add in the softener at the 3rd rinse, i m in charge of hanging out the clothes to dry and to fold them when they are dry... and i have to hand wash his stinky socks cos his mum says it's unhygenic to put what we wear on our feet in the wash with things we wear on our body.... =s.... the washing of the toilet is done on an ad hor basis.... and the surprising thing is.... i cant stand a dirty toilet.... i ended up washing the toilet since we moved in.... he's in charge of cleaning all the windows , fans, lights while i m in charge of changing the bedsheet once a month....

and as our drying area is too narrow.... we even outsource the washing of our bedsheet to 洪妈妈... upon her request though.... we din bully her oh....just being thick skin and agree to let her help us only....

now with the addition of our 2 pups, i have additional work to do every weekend, which is to bathe them, blow dry them and to brush them.... can easily take up 2-3 hours and it can be very tiring... cos the pups are super uncooperative la.... wriggle wriggle wriggle all over, trying to hide away from the water, from the hair dryer and even the comb....and have to hold them tight and to catch them whenever they managed to wriggle free.....but this is the only chore that i m not complaining about....in fact, i look forward to it... machiam like a bonding session with the pups...

it's a fact that he's doing more housework than me but that dosen mean that i cannot have a blog post to niam niam niam that i need to do housework.... waiting for the day where Mr Ang's biz plan became big enough for us to have a free maid at home.... =) ... hahahaha....

some cartoons to end the blog post with a smile... =D

hope i will never have to feel like the wifey above.... =S

No wonder i love Mr Ang so much.....

i m so gonna play this game with my kiddos next time... wahahaha....

Mr Ang "forced" me to sit and watch him while he vacuums and mops the floor everytime.... hahaha.... cos he finds me a nusiance for walking around when he's doing housework...

"I'll do it tmr" is my reply whenever Mr Ang asks when am i gonna iron the clothes or to wash his socks.... my record was a total of 8 pair of socks drying on the line....
