effort: 3/5
(3 times more mafan than cooking maggi mee cos need to boil the macaroni first, then boil the ingredients then mix everything together in the spaghetti sauce)
taste: 3/5
(way too salty... maybe was because i added too much salt during the boiling of the macaroni... i added the amount that was meant for the whole pack of macaroni when i only used about 20%... =P , maybe was also because of the slice of cheese i added in... )
price: $1.90
macaroni (20% x $1.95) = $0.39
Fishball (12.5% x $2.95) = $0.37
Crabstick (6.5% x $2.15) = $0.14
spagetti sauce (50% x $2) = $1
super proud and impressed with myself at cooking 5 dishes in the last third of March... realised a few new things about myself at this new found activity:
(1) love to cook broccoli cos it's just so easy.. boil for 2 minutes then drizzle with sesame oil and it can taste so good... wahahaha
(2) i have to finish one type of ingredient before i will cook another that belongs to the same category... example, i have to finish cooking the whole broccoli which will take up 3-4 meals before i will start cooking the kailan... similarly, i have to finish cooking all 3 bundles of mee suan before i will start cooking the macaroni....
i cannot stand the idea of having similar items all in half half packaging...
(3) i don't like the idea of having to deal with raw meat...
(4) i like tabulating how much is each dish to the minute cents.... wahahaha....
29 March
effort: 5/5
(my first attempt at cheese and ham omelette)

Broccoli (33% x $1.10) = $0.36
Egg (20% x $1.95) = $0.39
Ham (20% x $2.60) = $0.52

having cereal for breakfast is like a childhood dream come true... that's why i will always definitely have a bowl of cornflakes with milk whenever it's available at breakfast buffet on all my travel or staycations... =)
since young, i already know that i dislike waking up early and dislike cooking so waking up early to cook breakfast for myself or anyone is confirm a no-no-no ... i even imagined having a row of cereals for me to choose on different morning (saw that sheldon does this in BBT, maybe that's y i like him so much... heee)
eventually it didn't happen because of my laziness and love for nua-ing in bed, i grew up not needing breakfast...
but was happy to chance upon this when i went ingredient shopping for weekend cooking ....
effort: 1/5

taste: 5/5
(damn nice ... sweet sweet de... and the milk turned into strawberry milk when mixed... =D)

21 March
was still in the mood to cook... more of wanting to use up the broccoli that was left... was considering broccoli omelette that's why bought the bottle of oil ... wanted to buy macaroni but it was out of stock and decided to buy mee suan instead... don't know how to cook mee suan soup the 蔡妈咪's way so replaced it with ready made soup, the Campbell way... heee
spent another $11 @ NTUC... really doesnt make much economical sense for a meal... =S

20 March
too moody to walk across to have meals... too sick of maggi mee... too stingy to rely on Grab food... got to a point that i was contemplating if i should explore cooking.... hmmm
and when was the last time i cooked a proper dish??? Alfred will definitely have the correct answer... it was when 蔡妈咪 gave birth to Angela back in 1994 and i was tasked to do all the housework and to ensure that Alfred who was 4 years old at that time was fed.... god knows why i even bothered to try to cook when there was a coffee shop below our house.... poor him, had to eat weird yucky food for at least one meal before i decided to stop torturing our tastebuds and tummies... =S
finally put my plans into action when i chanced upon a similar video in fb yesterday... =)
found these 家当 in the kitchen cabinet
frozen shrimp in the freezer
bought these from NTUC @ $17.40... doesnt make economical sense if this is the one and only time i m cooking... =S
forgot to sieve the egg through the strainer and didnt use the cling wrap cos the bowl was kind of small with the broccoli floating beyond the rim... found out that these two missing steps were the reasons why my egg wasnt smooth and silky...
tatatata.... the dish looking cooked enough for consumption after 15 minutes... =)
Steamed Egg with Broccoli, Tofu & Shrimp
effort: 5/5
(I COOKED!!!)
edibility: 5/5
(i finished the whole bowl)
taste: 3/5
(broccoli was soft... i like... luv the tofu too... but what could go wrong with tofu anyway... overall was too bland for my liking despite adding soy sauce & sesame oil to the steamed dish as taught in the video.... )
price: $0.92
Broccoli (25% x $1.10) = $0.28
Tofu (25% x $0.75) = $0.19
