my 蔡啊妹 aka 蔡三宝 had officially launched Booming Cherries a year ago and for the whole of this year, together with her team of teachers, has been conducting drama lessons in many preschools... she designs her own lessons, trains her teachers and prints, cuts & laminates all teaching resources all on her own...
it has also been in her plan to produce a children's theatre show and i was so impressed that despite her busyness, this ambitious plan materialized with her hard & heart work and a bonus luck for having an equally amazing crew team to assist her... 😍😍😍
i think this is such a cool & pretty idea to section off the part of the black box that was not in use... luv the idea of having the audiences seated on the carpets too
to reduce cost, many things were borrowed... the swing chair was from uncle yc, front desk deco, lace curtains and centre round carpet were from home sweet home, lanterns were from school etc
DIY spaceship constructed by her handy boyfriend who also took leave from work to be the soundman of the show... 👍👍👍
my most most most important job was to order lunch for every one and second most most important job was to make sure that the art materials needed to make this super duper cute spaceship with an one-eye alien was sufficient for every one who came to enjoy the show...
turnout was lower than ideal given that it was Booming Cherries' first production... given that marketing & sale of ticket started only one month prior... given that many many were travelling this dec and given that many many more were busy with xmas prep or xmas gathering during this period of time...
but i'm very confident that the next show will be a success when given ample time to do the marketing and sale of tickets because Angela CAN WRITE... the storyline IS GOOD, the cast IS GOOD and the support team IS GOOD too... and i'm not saying this just because she's my sister... i have high standard for paying tickets one oh...
this team of amazing cast was so confident, so adaptable, and so creative on stage... i learnt so much just from observing them rehearse, modify their script and even change their dance moves minutes before the shows and during the shows!!!
i didn't really understand what was 'Interactive Theatre Production' until i watched this show...
the kids really had fun interacting and playing with the cast as part of the show... and Anson volunteered for the skipping segment during the second show...
Ahh! Alien lasted between 50 minutes to an hour, depending on the creativity of the cast... 😂😂😂...
then it was followed by 20+ minutes of craft time where everyone got to decorate a spaceship with an alien to bring home...
The highlight was being able to take pics with the cast... A big big THANK YOU to Julia, Cy and Yuan for buying tickets to come watch the show with their kiddos... 😍😍😍
i asked mummy if she wanna take the headgear down after the pic or to wear it home... she chose to wear it home... wahahahahaa
