yummy sandwich from 7-Eleven for breakfast before a 2 hours+++ car ride to Kanchanaburi...
had booked the Death Railway & River Kwai Bridge Tour by Ak Travel via Klook @ $391.20 for 4 pax just the night before we flew into Bangkok... regret not doing sufficient research to be confident enough to book a driver recommended by word of mouth too... 😓😓😓
1st stop : Street Market
food stalls had too many flies buzzing around for comfort so loitered at the souvenir stalls and bought this magnet at 20baht (S$0.80) for the fridge @ home sweet home...
2nd stop: Bridge over River Kwai
人山人海 @ the entrance of the Bridge over River Kwai
stand-up paddling among all the seaweeds......😖
walkers who couldnt get off the track in time when the train comes in can avoid being trainbutt by standing behind the red line on the many mini platforms along the track... heng, trains only come in 3 times a day...
was busy taking photos along the whole railway track that i didnt realise the chirpings at all till i uploaded this video.... 😅
the only 4 who were brave enough to walk all the way to the end of the track...
3rd stop : Kanchanaburi Town
Super duper quiet town... 90% of the shops were closed, including the gun shop which was in our itinerary 😤😤😤... Guide said that most of the people who originally lived in this town had moved to the cities for work...
i feel that it's such a waste... with the Death Railway, Safari Park, Erawan Waterfall, Elephant Sanctuary; this town could be developed into a popular touristy town like Malacca or Penang lo...
House of war hero, Boon Pong which is being used as a company space by his children...
4th stop : Thamkrasae Train Station
heavenly on a hot hot sunny day... so scorching hot that weather app stated it felt like 43°C... the roasted peanuts were so crunchy & flavourful... 😍
20baht (S$0.80)
the cave, just next to the track, where the rail builders were kept captive during the track construction had been converted into safety prayer area
monkey see, monkey too...
Wishing for a peaceful, healthy & happy life for me, my love ones and all those who love me...
the walk to & fro was so fun & exciting !!!
Thanks for agreeing and accompanying me on this tour even though i know ur hated the sun and were jittery of the walk on the track too...
要拍照的把头 pop 出来... 😂😂😂
had fun sharing about the train windows that were similar to those on the buses of our childhood time...😂😂😂
Both XP & I took a fancy of this yukata top (200baht = $8) and thought we would get it on our way back to the car... though the guide had repeatedly told us that we would be taking the 1.30pm train but it only occurred to us that we were not coming back approx 5 minutes before the train arrived and had to make a dash back to the entrance to buy it... 😂😂😂
