Day 3 in Poland - To Krakow Jewish Quarter & Ghetto

after more than half hour of 上上 下下 爬爬 拉拉 扛, we reached the train station, a good 30 minutes ahead of train departure time at 10.10am to even have time for breakfast...

S$25.18 for 2 pastries & 2 drinks...

was having "kan-cheong spider" attack of what if we missed the train due of the extra time i needed on the steps and stairs and locating the right train station & platform that i was all clammed up during that 30 minutes... managing myself with "it's okay, can just buy new tickets; 钱能解决的问题就不是问题"... 😅😅😅

but the breakfast did a great job at removing all my butterflies but my straight face during that 30 minutes already angered / upset-ed / 委屈-ed 妹妹 that she gave me the cold shoulder and almost everything i do for the next few days is wrong / 丢脸 / take her for granted attitude... and 少根精的我 only found out 2 days later...

that's the thing with 2 person trip, you only have each other to 看不顺眼 with and yet am stuck with each other and cos she's family, i cannot just throw back attitude as it would make the situation worse and i know i cannot just leave and block her out of my life like what i did with non-family...

吞, although i  was equally upset that she was nitpicking my words and actions which were not even directed at her, i apologised for being insensitive, promised to be more careful with my words & actions and continued to feel inadequate for most part of the trip cos i started nitpicking (internally) on all the words she used on me too...  两个小气鬼 !!!

10.10am to 1.50pm - train from warsaw to krakow @ $23.54 each

proud of myself for making our cup holder from the paper bag

kept myself occupied with reading, starring out of the window, napping and learnt a little bit of crocheting in the 4 hours train ride... didnt have the luxury of mindless strolling cos only had simba monthly free 3GB international data for this whole trip...

first surprise upon reaching Krakow... had to pay with credit card (S$1.57) and used the turnstiles to enter the toilet!!!... 😓😓😓

the street where our apartment was on, less than 10 minutes walk from the train station... minimal steps!!! 😂😂😂

had a comforting simple lunch of instant porridge 😍😍😍 in our small small cozy apartment which would be our home sweet home for the next 3 nights @ S$346.87...

where we were assigned to the back row

proof that 妹妹 and I are a sock generation difference; millennial with my no-show socks vs gen z with her happy face crew socks... 😂😂😂

drove by Old Synagogue

drove along Szeroka Street aka the heart of the Jewish Kazimierz

drove by Remah Synagogue, the smallest of 7 synagogues remaining in Krakow and the only one still in regular use

drove by the Monument to Jan Karski, a Polish WW II secret agent known for his efforts to reveal the Jewish Holocaust to the Allied powers

drove by Pub Wrega where its exterior depict historical figures of significance

so glittery pretty!!!

drove through Marshal Jozef Pitsudski Bridge

@ Ghetto Heroes Square, each bronze chair represents 1k life taken at or removed from this site during that period... there are 70 chairs

the stones on the chairs are known as visitation stones in Jewish practice, resembling the love and respect for the deceased...

drove by fragment of Krakow Ghetto Wall that once enclosed between 15k-20k Jews during the Holocaust

drove by Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory... a small regret that i didnt include this museum into our itinerary... but the many many youtube videos and the movie Schindler's List alleviated the regret...

tour ended on the dot... our guide ran off before we could give him his tips... 😅😅😅

past by Krakow Municipal Headquarter of the State Fire Service on our walk back to Plac Nowy that we drove by during the tour and highly recommended by our guide

a round of stalls all selling Zapiekarnia, Polish baguette... everyone here was either queuing for Zapiekarnia, eating Zapiekarnia or had just finished their Zapiekarnia... 😂😂😂

really quite yummy!!! ... S$9.50 for half size with a cup of orange lemonade...

ice cream ($3.17 per scope) and strawberries drizzled with chocolate ($6.70) as dessert of the day... 😋😋😋

as it was a weekday, only a few stalls of the surrounding flea market were opened...

walked by Ohrenstein House on our way home at 7.30pm, yes, still this bright...

though it was confusing, i appreciated the long daylight everyday from 4+ am to 10+ pm... i feel that i have more energy to go here, go there, go everywhere everyday... =)
