2025 annual 蔡家 holiday is a stayca @ Colugo Camp in Mandai.
check in @ 3pm
welcome drink... would be perfecto if the dinning hall comes with unblock view...
we were allocated tent 10 & 11 as they were accessible by ramps and nearest to the communal toilets and showering rooms
it had been raining since last weekend and weather forecast & news both stated that it would rain these two days as well... i was (sadly) mentally prepared to stay in-tent throughout this stayca...
i was donned in water resistant jogger pants & jacket with slippers & had asked the chuas to bring snacks & games as wet weather program... 😅😅😅
quick quick take pic with 蔡妈咪 with the amazing view from our balcony before any bad weather was to happen...
this pic had been digitally brightened!!! there were lightnings and drizzles at 3+pm...
nua nua abit while we waited for 蔡小宝 & wifey to join us at 4pm...
being the smaller in size, i volunteered to take the upper bunk, leaving Alfred to stablise the lower bunk... wahahaha
to the zoo we went!!!
took 4 gigantic umbrellas provided in our tents along but didnt have to use them...woohoo!!!
we only had 1.5 hours OTOT in the zoo which was only enough for a walk past the pelicans', orang utans' and otters' enclosures, watched the sealion splash splash show & took a tram ride around the zoo...
back @ the dinning hall for our buffet dinner at 6.30pm... not much variety of appetizers, mains & desserts but every dish was yummy... luv the vermicelli noodle salad and bread budding the most!!!
chop chop done with dinner, took a 45 minutes break in our tents then off to the Night Safari we went!!!
had VIP seating @ the show and a 专 tram just for Colugo Campers with humourous live commentary... saw plentiful of active animals; white tigers, elephants, rhinos, hippos, in the dark with some of them; deer & tapir, roaming really near to our tram... so exciting!!!
by right, we had about an hour to go on the walking trails OTOT before heading back to our campsite for a simple supper of milo & sandwiches by 10.30pm...
by left, we enjoyed a self-paid supper of yummilicious laksa, grilled prawns & satay at the food corner of Night Safari and still headed to the dinning hall to collect our 7 cans of iced milo & a sandwich back to our tents... hanging out with the chua brothers will really fat-die-me!!!
pretty pretty floor light...
the communal toilets & showering rooms, though basic, are spacious and very clean.
Lights out @ 11pm... We / I was too loud and received an in-tent reminder by the Camp-in-charge to keep our volume down... 🙊🙊🙊...
given my easily excitable nature when i hang out with the chuas, it would be very difficult for me to hold a soft conversation, especially when i was lying furthest from everyone on the upper bunk seh... so had an early night instead... 😂😂😂
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8.15am > Rise & Shine for our tent 11 while tent 10 was all ready when i walked past in my PJ with my toothbrush in hand... 😂😂😂
checked out followed by a simple 饱饱 breakfast...
luggage tag for all our barang barangs so that we could 手空空逛 River Wonder at 9.30am before it was opened to the public!!!
guided tour by a very passionate Ming who job his love!!! can still hear his energy in his narration despite being on the job for 10 years?!?!?!?
staff placing the prawn paste on the branch to let the archer fish practice their shooting after seeing how the lung fish was being pampered with one to one feeding...
highly suspect this part of the building was built to accommodate this tree seh!!!
so adorable!!!
though the merchandises are quite cute but the practicality in me told me "no no no"...
Everyone here had a great time!!!
3 Parks, 2 Tours, 1 Stay is Colugo Camp's tagline... it can also be 3 meals, 2 soft toys per tent, 1 very worthy package!!!
@ $200 / pax for this fun packed stayca really is quite worth it...
Thank you Alvin for the yummilicious departing lunch @ Roberta's
