PISA & LUCCA
took the train to Pisa and cost 5.80 euro per ticket....journey took about 1 hour and tatatata.... reached Pisa train station....
but no map available and dun see any helpful signage ...and although there's a location map nearby, it wasnt helpful at all..... so we decided to just follow the crowd... =)
see these three people infront???.... they are the suspects that Mr Ang and I were tailgating.... cos we saw that they were holding a map and they are singaporeans... wahahaha.... but then, they were walkin so slowly, so Mr Ang and I had to pretend to take some photos along the way
and finally, after 10 - 15 minutes of tailgating, we saw a useful signage
Mr Ang's comment: It's really leaning de....
DUH!!! wahahaha.... y do u think it's call the leaning tower????
basically, there's really nothing much at Pisa... is really travel all the way to Pisa just to see the leaning tower only....
Dalmatians....yeah...the italian loves dogs....lots lots... you will get to see dogs everywhere, in buses, in trains, in malls, along the streets.... =)....
TIME FOR LUNCH... =)
Nothing impressive actually...but had a good laugh at the english menu... this plate below is called spagetti with sea FRUIT... i think they meant seafood instead....
and this one below is called RICE with mushroom.... i was craving for rice but.... it's pasta AGAIN...and i dun know how could they confused pasta with rice.... hahahaha
On the way back to the station, we passed by another gelato shop...=)... only 1.50 euro per cone of 2 big scoops of gelato... happiness.... mine was nutella with pistachios...damn yummilious lo..... this shop is just to the left of the bridge if you are heading towards to leaning tower.... cheap and good... must try... =)
A happy Mr Ang with his cone....
interesting sign...=)
took an half an hour train from Pisa at 2.40 euro per ticket and we ended up in LUCCA... famous for its WALL.... it's was part of the fortifications that surround the historic part of the city date back to the early 16th century....
Instead of tearing down the walls as it's been done in so many other italian cities, the fortifications were left entirely intact and the rest of the city simply grew outside the walls.
The walls are 12 meters tall and the top of the walls are paved and lined with trees.
and as usual, it's not part of italy if there's no churches and clock towers... =)
train back to florence was approx 1.5 hours and cost 5.20 euro per ticket.... and by evening time, we were back in florence.... italy can be quite boring for uncultural people like me.... hahahaha.... oopx....
back to our favourite restaurant in Florence for dinner... located just a few units away from our hotel... =)
seafood pasta for Mr Ang and Aglio Olio for me... =)... Thanks Xin Ying for introducing Aglio Olio to me, else i will confirm die in italy... Luv Aglio Olio to bits cos they are the cheapest and the only dish that i wun get sick of... i can eat it almost everyday.... but ken's one is still the best....
