housework

Housework!!!

i hate doing housework.... if given a choice, i rather teach two more tuition every week to earn the extra to pay for a maid to do all the housework than to do it myself.... two more tuition = 4 hours of teaching every week.... no sweat, no stinky smell, no detergent, no disgusting stuff....just have to sit and explain to a kiddo about math and sci for 2 hours straight per lesson.... good deal right????

but if get a maid, then cannot have 二人世界 with Mr Ang, and the fact that Mr Ang and I are not home most of the time, the maid that we gonna get will be queen of the house la.... so no no no no no..... thought of getting those part time cleaner who comes in once a week to do all the vacuuming, mopping, washing, ironing etc.... heard it only cost $10 - $12 per hour.... so, for less than $150 a month, we dun need to do housework.... also good deal hor???

but Mr Ang dun like.... he prefers to look after his own home sweet home so i'm forced to look after our home sweet home too.... while he's in charge of vacuuming and mopping the floor, i m in charge of ironing the clothes.... he's in charge of washing the clothes and to add in the softener at the 3rd rinse, i m in charge of hanging out the clothes to dry and to fold them when they are dry... and i have to hand wash his stinky socks cos his mum says it's unhygenic to put what we wear on our feet in the wash with things we wear on our body.... =s.... the washing of the toilet is done on an ad hor basis.... and the surprising thing is.... i cant stand a dirty toilet.... i ended up washing the toilet since we moved in.... he's in charge of cleaning all the windows , fans, lights while i m in charge of changing the bedsheet once a month....

and as our drying area is too narrow.... we even outsource the washing of our bedsheet to 洪妈妈... upon her request though.... we din bully her oh....just being thick skin and agree to let her help us only....

now with the addition of our 2 pups, i have additional work to do every weekend, which is to bathe them, blow dry them and to brush them.... can easily take up 2-3 hours and it can be very tiring... cos the pups are super uncooperative la.... wriggle wriggle wriggle all over, trying to hide away from the water, from the hair dryer and even the comb....and have to hold them tight and to catch them whenever they managed to wriggle free.....but this is the only chore that i m not complaining about....in fact, i look forward to it... machiam like a bonding session with the pups...

it's a fact that he's doing more housework than me but that dosen mean that i cannot have a blog post to niam niam niam that i need to do housework.... waiting for the day where Mr Ang's biz plan became big enough for us to have a free maid at home.... =) ... hahahaha....

some cartoons to end the blog post with a smile... =D

hope i will never have to feel like the wifey above.... =S

No wonder i love Mr Ang so much.....

i m so gonna play this game with my kiddos next time... wahahaha....

Mr Ang "forced" me to sit and watch him while he vacuums and mops the floor everytime.... hahaha.... cos he finds me a nusiance for walking around when he's doing housework...

"I'll do it tmr" is my reply whenever Mr Ang asks when am i gonna iron the clothes or to wash his socks.... my record was a total of 8 pair of socks drying on the line....

Happi Hatchday Singapore

hApPi 46th HaTcHdAy SINGAPORE!!!

National day is always fun.... cos got school celebration and it's a half day.... wahahaha.... followed by 2 days off.... those of you who are not in pri, sec or JC wun know or remember that August 10 is also a school holiday bah... it's a rest day for the kids who participates in the national parade so those who din participate gets to leech on and enjoy the rest day too... woohoo... =) ...
proud to say that i had watched the live parade at least 4 times liao... once when i was in p3 cos grandpa gotten the tickets from the cc where he was very actively involved in, once in P5 as part of national education and twice with my current school with the P5 kiddos.....
Despite having a national day theme song every year.... i feel that the two most popular ones with the primary school kiddos are;

(2001) - Where I Belong - by Tanya Chua

and (2005) - Reach Out for the Skies - Rui En & Taufik

Think it's because these two are more catchy bah..... personally i like them too cos their lyrics are easier to remember and i get to hum along whenever we have sing-along practices starting one week before national day itself...

my kids had so much fun waving their little flags during the sing along sessions and i strongly encouraged them to do so as well... more fun mah.... until my little cedrick came running over to me to tell me that he's going to wave his flag during the flag lowering song (NATIONAL ANTHEM) one evening.... wahahaha.... nonono, i told him...it's a different kind of national SONG la.... kids are really cute (when teaching is not going on)

well, to 'celebrate' national today and while waiting for jc classmates to arrive for a gathering at home sweet home (and boy, thay are really late), i went youtubing and listened to all the national day theme songs which make its tribute in 1984;

1984 & 85- Stand up for Singapore

1986 - Count on me Singapore
1987 & 88 - We are Singapore

1990 - One People, One Nation, One Singapore

1998 - Home

1999 - Together

2000 - Shine on Me

2001 - Where I Belong

2002 - We will get there

2003 - One United People

2004 - Home (again)

2005 - Reach out for the skies

2006 - My Island Home

2007 - There's no place i'd rather be

2008 - Shine for Singapore

2009 - What do you see?

2010 - Song for Singapore

and for this year, it's "In a Heartbeat"

Personally I like home

and There's no place I'd rather be...

=).... easier to sing... recent years one too jazzy for me....

me and my wardrobe

Me and my Wardrobe

i m always in track pants and t-shirt for work eventhough i m not a PE teacher this year...=P ... cos i find it so much more convenient to move around in school, climb up and down the stairs, run to and fro the general office, staff room, classroom and the hall in sport shoes....not to mention having to lug the stacks of workbooks, compo books, journal books, spelling books, worksheets etc....

the problem now is, i only have 3 pairs of track pants and about 4 or 5 t-shirts for school... so i m in the same attire every single week of school.... super sad for a woman right??? haix.... but i really cant bring myself to buy many many track pants and many many t-shirt leh.... they are too similar for me to own many of them ... if buy too many of the same kind then i will feel like i m ronald mcdonald

.....hahahaha... or maybe liang po po .....open up the wardrobe....all identical clothing one.... hahahaha....

and clothes in singapore are so expensive.... most ranging $30 and above.... and over the years, after shopping in places like bangkok, vietnam, taiwan and on cleocat, i m even more reluctant to spend this amount of money on any single piece of clothing... basically, just one phrase to describe me - catty to the max....

and i have putting on a little weight.... becoming more and more flabby in the last 3 to 4 years and hence making it even more difficult to find affordable clothings to make me look good in.... and being a super ultimate casual person, i m mostly in shorts and a simple top and also being a super ultimate nua person, it means that i dun go out much, especially not to places where i have to make an effort to dress up.....

so every often, i will feel that i dun have enough clothes to wear because i keep wearing the same few pieces of clothing and because they are constantly in the wash, they look kind of old and gloomy but very comfy la.... so under this circumstance, i will go online and spend approximately $200 plus every three to four months... i will convince myself that that equates to approx $50 a month on shopping and it's consider very little for a woman liao wor.... but why $200 leh...cos i need to purchase 15 pieces of clothing from this website in order to enjoy the wholesale price...

but this will lead to another problem cos i will never buy clothes for work, i will end up buying 15 pieces of clothes that i will wear to go town.... so in the end, i will end up with more clothes in the cupboard that are just hung there and waiting to be worn out and no new clothes for work!!!!.....

and the clothes on these websites are usually too short for me to wear to work.... am i considered too tall??? cannot be leh.... i m only 1.63m then where do these dresses that i bought always end up at least 5cm above my knee which is not acceptable to be worn to school... =(

this pix is so apt for how i feel.... a whole wardrobe of clothes yet i will say

"I HAVE NO CLOTHES TO WEAR!!!"

surf surf net cos i m very sure i m not the only woman in the world that is facing this problem... and found out that there are really researches done and concluded that most women only wear a quarter of the clothes in their wardrobe three quarter of the time....=(
