Singapore's F stands for Fire Station

took a super long while for this post to hatch cos the only timing that's available to visit the fire station is from 9am - 11am on every SATURDAY morning.... i'm really not that "hardworking" to wake up so early on any Saturday morning.... so dilly dally and finally got my butt out of the bed early this morning....

a round of applause for myself and PTL who accompanied me on this 'learning journey' despite having a late Friday night..... clap clap clap clap.... =)

anyway, we visited the oldest existing fire station in Singapore - Central Fire Station, located at hill street, which is of walking distance from City Hall Mrt station...

we entered thru the civil defence heritage gallery

and was directed to visit the fire station first as the open house will end at 11am

we took 2 corners, passed by this beautiful spiral staircase which i believed was used by firemen in the olden days

and reached the 'chaotic' parade square...

took us a while to realise that it was on OTOT(own time own target) style... many friendly civil defence officers/firemen were stationed around to answer any quires about the equipment and their jobs and to entertain the kids...

here was a civil defence officer/fireman briefing a group of foreign pupils who were there on a learning journey

another  civil defence officer/fireman  helping a kiddo to climb up the fire truck

and another one teaching the young one (blocked by his mum) how to direct the water from the hose to 'put out' the fire...

kiddo and daddy posing for mummy on the the poles at which the firemen slide down

2 young @ hearts having lots of fun posing in the fire truck... =)

proceeded to the air-conditional heritage gallery where many antique fire trucks were on display...

then we 'heard' this super antique phone rang

and a very serious mr charles picked it up before 'despatching' the firemen on their next mission... =P.... wahahahaha....

luv the 1970s version, don't u???

uniform from the 30s to 70s

had fun turning this around to look 'into' the people around us... wahahahahaha

overall, it was an unique activity worth spending a morning on... especially for kiddos... they will definitely have a great great time playing in the trucks and with the water....

it will be good to bring an extra set of clothings for the kiddos to change into after the visit though...
