NLC > Art Conversation in a Museum

13th May (Wed)

roasted pistachio ice cream on pandan mochi waffle in exchange for a hitch to NUS Museum for session #2... =)

museum 的 toilet signage 就是 art 别的 toilet 一等

the session started off with a guided tour by Curator Jia Le at local artist Ng Eng Teng's new exhibition;

in my humble opinion, i find this masterpiece relates to 1 + 1 = 1 more than the one it's named after...

faces faces everywhere... didnt know Singapore artist was so avant-garde too, especially during the 1970s... 🙈🙈🙈

@ Ng ENg Teng's 1 + 1 = 1 exhibition

minis of his much larger sculptures and i learnt that these are call maquettes and are usually created to visualise the composition, proportions and details of a work before the artist commit to the time and expense of full-scale pieces.

连 sculpture 也在减肥... 我们一起加油!!! kambate!!! 😂😂😂

this artwork, The Last Masterpiece, is one that i think has the most interesting background story, so interesting that we, group A3, did our 'macro-teaching' on...

Using Visual-Thinking-Strategy :

< Zoom-In Reveal >
Describe what do you see here?
Where do you usually see these items?
Tell me more.

< Pick a Role >
Who will use these items as subject matters?
What is going on in this artwork?
What makes you say that?
Do you have similar experience?
If there's one thing you can change about this artwork, what would it be? Why?

The Last Masterpiece (2001)

Composed of cotton swabs, cotton balls, plastic tubes, and a syringe. Notably, many of the cotton balls are stained with his own blood. Mr Ng Eng Teng was unable to finish the work before his death due to his failing health. It was completed by his family members based on specific instructions he left behind.

Full Attendance
