Day 4 in North Korea - Ulim waterfall, Songdowon International Children's Camp, farm community,

buses in waiting, all from the same company as ours, waiting for the many many tourists to be brought around and about the country...

selfie of the day... loving my new phone camera which seems to have an auto 美图秀秀 function... i definitely do not look this fresh & decent on a morning, any morning.... wahahahaha

Off we went, on a long long (3+ hours) bumpy, extremely bumpy bus ride out of Pyongyang to Wonsan City...

drove past a parade square and saw this...

was told that these motivators sing and dance as a way to motivate the employees of the country EVERY work day morning, that's 6 days a week... woah!!!

one thing that i still don't have an answer to is how far do these people have to walk or cycle to & from their home to their work place every day??? though their public system seems kind of accessible, their bus stops do not seems a plenty...

the horrid road condition which is the culprit of all the bumpy bus rides in and out of Pyongyang

pretty pretty scenery where we had our toilet break

the  bumpy rides caused much gases in my empty tummy... was burpy and uncomfy.... heng, i had these snacks with me... and the second half of the bumpy bus ride was more tolerable....

Ulim waterfall in June... it can be much much more spectacular in other months as shown in this youtube video i found...

到此一游 selfie and we were on our way again

didn't see / recognise any international children... we also wonder which parents will send their kids here for summer camp although we very much wanted to send a few of pupils here.... oopx... =P

was in the way of this group of campers on our way to visit the aquarium

covers for school provided in the aquarium ... nothing spectacular enough to take pic of.. =P

view outside the aquarium

to farm community visit we went...

local tour guide shared that there are approx 1000 people living in this community with 600+ of them being farmers... i assumed the rest are children, teachers, shop keepers, barbers etc etc ...

the nursery kiddos were having relay match ... so cute...

they sure could line up in straight lines very well despite their young age...

the infant & toddler care centre

raw barley just spread out in the middle of the road to dry

we were invited into one of the farmer's house
spotted a few varieties of vegetable growing in her front pouch...

kitchen

bedroom

spotted a plastic basin of baby bunnies ... just a few days old... eyes not even opened yet.... so adorable lo...

little did i found out days later that they are rear as food.... OMG!!!... how could they???? the same logic to how could i towards my meat & seafood too.... haix...

another long bus ride ... but much tolerable due to the pretty view along the way...

Pollock fish hotpot again!!!

too fishy... no likey!!! cup cup noodles to the rescue once more...

the worst bed out of the 3 hotel we stayed in on this trip.... so hard that piggy me didnt sleep well despite being super tired from the at least 8 hours bus ride that day....

was surprised to be informed that electricity would be cut off from 11+pm till 5+am every day at this hotel to conserve energy... those who needs the toilet during this cut off can use the battery operated emergency light (the one that's shaped like a flipped phone) that is placed on the table between the beds ...=/

~ End of Day 4 ~
