Day 1 in Poland - Segway Tour @ Warsaw Old Town

Yeah~Yeah~Yeah~Yeah... adding two more countries to countries i have travelled to !!!

i decided on these two countries after listening to mx's advice that i should travel further since i still have the energy to do so now, especially the energy to 'tahan' long flight journey... 😴😴😴

i proposed the 'big idea' to my default june travel kaki, used my 姐姐身份 & 老花眼 as an excuse and my amazing & very capable 蔡妹妹 did ALL the flights bookings, apartment bookings, travel insurance,, intercity & cross-country train bookings, day tour bookings built upon my brief KPI of me wanna visit museums &/or memorial of WWII... 😇😇😇

Chuas Sisters departing Changi Terminal 1 to Poland!!! 💃💃💃

Thai dinner of tom yam soup with rice for me and tom yam soup with kuay tiao for 妹妹

also managed to exchange S$320 into zloty which we used less than half, mainly for tips, street food & desserts

Flew with Turkish Airline @ $577... what a thoughtful and useful goody-pouch for all passengers... 😍😍😍

supper then brekkie

and 11+ hours later, we alighted @ Istanbul to celebrate our 1 year anniversary exploration in Turkiye with a 2hr 45 mins stopover... 😂😂😂

back on the plane for another 2.5 hours... freshened up + brekkie round 2

and finally touched down Poland Warsaw Chopin Airport @ 9.30am

followed the pink line to the ticket machine

bought 2x zt4.40 pln (S$1.53) for any bus/tram/metro journey within 75 minutes... also bought our 24hr transport ticket for the next day at zt15 pln (S$5.21) each

took the 10.23am bus 175 which brought us to Warsaw historic centre / old town in less than an hour

deposited our two 大 two 小 luggage at zt104 pln (S$36) at this souvenir shop via Bounce cos check-in at our apartment was 3+ hours later at 3pm

walked around for about 45 minutes... so many, so many awesome antique buildings to admire and so many, so many graffiti that was uncalled for...

reported punctually at 12nn for

4 sign-ups with our humorous Ukraine guide who had full confidence that we could handle the segway within a one minute demo... also luv his biased sharing of the past & present of Warsaw's facts & stories... lastly, thankful for the pics & videos he took of us along the tour too!!!

@ one of the 15 Chopin benches

双手抓紧紧 @ the very beginning of the tour

student uniform group @ Presidential Palace... here, we learnt about hoof code; where the number of horse's hooves in the air tells the reason of how the important person on it died...

@ St.

@ University of Warsaw where we learnt that there was an axe attack a month ago which left one dead and one severely injured... 🙏🙏🙏

cute bear bear @ Royal Castle

confident enough to 一边拍 一边溜 after about 30 minutes into the tour... heee

on Warsaw's first pedestrian and bicycle bridge across Vistula River

my favourite fun activity just because i could go vroom vroom vroom... 😍😍😍

this tour cost S$87.39 each and we gave a zt20 pln tip (S$6.96)

lunch was yummy Polish cuisine for zt106.87 pln (S$36.94)... had Pierogi that come in Grandma's vs Grandpa's potion and chewy chewy Golasy... luv all the dishes!!! 😋😋😋

lunch done and finally it was time to check-in; walk walk walk, pull pull pull, trotter trotter trotter, up stairs then down stairs...

i forgot how unpredictable the walking with luggage can be since my last F&E trip with big-ass luggage was back in 2018 in Japan with the chuas... 真是要了我的老腰 and my non-existent bicep & tricep... 😅😅😅

super luv this ancient ancient lift that took us one at a time to our apartment on the 5th level cos it was just so teeny tiny that it couldnt fit both of us & our luggage!!! 😱😱😱

almost nighty vit C to keep us healthier on the trip... we crashed soon after checking in and only woke up at 9+pm and I went back to sleep within the next 1-2 hours... 😴😴😴
