Just a 2 minute walk from Topkapi Palace Museum is Saint Sophia Grand Mosque
luv this tunnel walkway that leads into the prayer hall
this place of worship was built and rebuilt 3 times at this same location, first as a cathedral and now used as a mosque
as a form of respect, ladies have to don on a scarf and clothing for all needs to be sleeved and covers the knees... disposable scarf and/or raincoat are provided for those considered inappropriately dressed... 😅
we were given 10 minutes to take pic of the exterior of Saint Sophia Grand Mosque but it was these push carts that got most of our attention... 😂😂😂
i paid 10 lira (S$0.42) for a simit, turisk pretzel covered with sesame seeds, fragrant but not yummy... 硬硬的...
and angela paid 85 lira (S$3.55) for her cup of coffee
Then it was lunch @ a nearly eatery... first meal in Turkiye... the first of many fresh greens, lentil soup, grilled chicken, rice & fries... 😱😱😱
Another 2 minutes walk away is the Blue Mosque aka Sultan Ahmed Mosque
then we walked down this street of shophouses to hop on to our bus for a 5 hrs drive
to Elifim Resort Hotel @ Bolu that has a magical lift and decent rooms...
dinner at the hotel restaurant at 9.15pm upon arrival... 又是 fresh greens, lentil soup, chicken, rice & fries, just that these were presented in buffet style... 😑😑😑
but i like that they have recycling bins @ the lift lobby of every level... we also collected the bottle caps for our tour guide's mum who donates / collects them to exchange for a wheelchair...
Had this idea of doing a travel reel to commemorate the Chua sisters' first oversea travel a few days before our trip but didnt dare to propose it as i knew my favourite sis was busy with auditions, sign language assessment and being an emo-support to her friends...
i only dare to timidly voiced out my idea while waiting for Grab to the airport and my favourite sis creatively made it happened for us... 😍😍😍
